Yesterday i used Cardiff to do a day trip to Berlin to do some plane spotting at Tegel airport. My flight from Cardiff was at 10.10 with Flybe on an E175. I got to the airport about 08.45 which was a bit later than i thought i would be arriving as i got stuck in traffic on the A4232 on the way to the airport. I'd already checked in online and i was hand luggage only so i was able to head straight to security but i did notice how busy in general the check in area was. Security was pretty quick with the new machines better than the old ones and i believe making the whole thing quicker and 2...

Flight from Liverpool to Bergen with Wideroe

I decided to try a weekend in Bergen soon after this new route was announced so thought a pre Christmas visit would be ideal. Left on 7 Dec the flight is due to depart at 08.05 at present but in the new year it will be around 10.00. Checked in bag and made way through security. There was quite a number of people going for a Wizz flight at same time but was still screen fast. The flight was parked remotely so we were bussed. I would say the flight was over a quarter full. Smooth flight and plane is still very smart inside being very new. Flying time 1.30h. Free hot drink on board...

Australia-bound Since 2010 my wife and I have been flying to Australia to visit family. We’ve always used Emirates and last month was our seventh trip in the past eight years. Previously we have used Gatwick Airport, and Birmingham Airport on one occasion. This year our departure point was Heathrow. I’ve submitted trip reports regarding our journeys to Oz in the past and as the flights have been with Emirates a further detailed trip report might be repetitious so I’ve submitted a slightly reduced summary of the trip this time. All times shown are local to the airport in question. We...

So I returned on Thursday (15th) from once again a lovely week away in Gran Canaria using BHX for the second time, and once again it was a very enjoyable visit We departed Cardiff at around 03:30 and arrived at BHX shortly after 05:30, We paid the £2 to drop off outside the terminal and it was a very quick and efficient process, We approached the TUI bag drop area, which was very quiet , A friendly greeting arrived and we were asked if we had used the self service bag drop before, indeed we had so we proceeded to scan the boarding pass and place the bags on the scale to weigh and print...

What are your passenger rights?

I recently booked a package holiday to USA. There was one long haul flight (UK to USA) then one connecting internal flight in USA - this was bought as one journey rather than 2 separate ones. Both flights were with the same airline (US based). On the way home the first (internal US) flight was cancelled (bad weather elsewhere in US meant the plane never made it on time to the airport). We were booked on the next available flight - the same one 24 hours later - free of charge. As a result we incurred various extra costs such as accommodation and food etc. Normally I believe if the...

Went out Tues (18th) afternoon came back yesterday. Entered the central security are at 1pm and there wasn't even a queue. I find it most frustrating that you can't see onto the apron unless you pay £20+ (hopefully it will be better with the extension). There were 42 pax on board mainly seated at the back, push on time arrive DUS 20 mins early. Seated in 14A, about 2/3rds along the engine, seeing down OK but not across. Only one announcement from the flight deck, slightly garbled and the 2 stewards worked quietly and efficiently. I only spoke on disembarkation. Parked on a remote stand...
