Newcastle International Airport celebrates its one millionth passenger this year Last week, Newcastle International Airport celebrated its one millionth passenger to travel through the Airport since the start of 2023. The lucky passenger, Lei, an academic from Durham, was travelling from Newcastle direct to Frankfurt with Lufthansa on 27 April. Lei was “really surprised” when the Airport and Airline welcomed the milestone passenger with £75 to spend on luxuries in the Airport’s World Duty Free store.
