Has this kind of infrastructure deal ever been done before between council and private ownership?
Thales UK today announces the signing of a contract to supply and install a Cat III 420 Instrument Landing System (ILS) and 415 Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) to Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
It probably seems an unimportant thing but the WCs have been gradualy renovated around the airport. They are now very modern looking and high tech facilities. It obviously makes going to visit the loo a more pleasant experience it also shows Liverpool Airport is improving the passenger experience.

As small as it is it is still relevent especially from a passengers perspective. There's nothing worse than broken, dirty smelly public conveniences.
On rail subjects Merseytravel long term strategy is to build a rail connection to Liverpool John Lennon, some intial study work is underway at present.
