Jet 2 could invest in a new Terminal In Birmingham.
it would target a great target audience new flights USA - ISRAEL and future even vast into Middle East, Asia and Far East. all from one new terminal Jet 2 could generate more income from airlines investing in flights from Jet "2" Terminal and I love Jet 2 excellent staff and 24 Hours Desk at BHX - Birmingham International Airport - Well Done Jet 2 a successful and beautiful airline makes me cry my dear. (With LOVE X X X )

Wouldn't that be nice.....but would never happen....BHX is very land locked.....the master plan which shows new stands being made etc is about all they can do really......we will have 15 Departures in the morning wave next summer, so empty stands will be few and far between come then, and its already a battle with Swissport for equipment storage......we have stand 80 at the moment, but we have already outgrown that now....and with more new equipment coming we'll need somewhere to store that in between waves......

15 departures? I thought Jet 2 were basing 13 or 14 next summer not 15 ? Great news if it is 15 though ....

I love your enthusiasm KJAY786! But I’m afraid to disappoint there will be no grand single use terminals. The only future infrastructure if built will be a new HQ and hangar in Leeds, although both are yet to be decided.

:wtf:

it will certainly be a welcome addition to the BHX route network if jet2 are able to announce Lisbon!

Go with what we know - BHX and MAN, rule STN out of course as STN doesn't have any city routes (and they are not about to start a war with Ryanair on city markets out of STN). Probably add in something Scottish (EDI) and then possible a HQ base. EMA wont get, GLA has very few city routes as does BFS, NCL has a handful. Lets be hones they won't be more then 3 weekly. To begin with.

Also if you read the tweets for the press guys at the event and then the Travel Weekly or TTG whichever one - it says that to expect a further destination and something Greek. Unsure if that is a clue. TBH where is now left?

Ah! Talks....I wish that luxury but it seems never ending with BHX managers, not least the silence that is forthcoming. ....Were there not talks with China, perhaps South America and Africa? JET2 have been magnificent but what else has there been to lift the gloom?

I’m amazed Jet2 have been able to acquire any slots at Lisbon given how congested it is. Fingers crossed.

Maybe this will help:

Lisbon restructures airspace to hike airport capacity

Nav Portugal says it aims to raise the capacity of the airport to 72 aircraft movements per hour, compared with the present level of 44.

I'm going to rule out MAN-Lisbon as we've got TAP 14 weekly, Ryanair 5 weekly and easyJet 4 weekly. If it were just 2 airlines (TAP + someone) then maybe we would see them. Nice disruptor for Ryanair and easyJet would be to squeeze them by doing Lisbon out of LBA and BHX so "poaching" some Yorkshire and West Midlands passengers back to their home airport. Couple of flights a week to test the market then look at bumping it up in 2021.

Earlier this month, Jet2 snapped up Thomas Cook’s slots at Manchester, Birmingham and Stansted, which Heapy said represented “significant investment” in three of its nine UK bases.

An additional five aircraft will be based at Manchester, and one each at Birmingham and Stansted Heapy told delegates.

Is this on top of the 14 aircraft already known about or included in? If they are planning 15 based next summer then we should be seeing some expansion fairly soon?
