Great news to hear that Birmingham Pride have secured the old Wholesale Markets site for 2020, it looks like it's going to be one huge event :)

Hopefully it will link seamlessly into the Gay Village area as I imagine that local businesses make some huge profits that weekend.

Had a cracking night in Brum on Sat.

A rare child free evening meant visiting some of the pubs that we don't normally get chance to, the atmosphere in all of them was fantastic (y)

I also managed a brief walk about to see some of the projects that are underway. I'm very impressed with the Bank Towers even more so when lit up at night. Paradise is looking fabulous especially with some of the public realm starting to be unveiled, just need the Copthorne to see the wrecking ball now. The framework on 103 Colmore Row is really coming on as is that building in Arena Central (sorry don't know what it's called). Didn't get chance to visit Eastside. What impressed me the most was the Metro extension up to Centenary Square, what a cracking job they have done. The paving and roadworks looked top quality (although it was dark and I has consumed my fair share of Christmas cheer) and the new look trams are a massive improvement, it really was quite a sight watching them cruise past the Town Hall. Paradise and Arena Central are going to make this whole area top notch when complete (y)

Just need to start on Dale End now.

Brum is shaping up nicely. A good mix of resi and offices. Some major prelets no doubt tide up. Best alternative to London and with HS2 quicker to central London than most alternatives.

Good to Andy Street was the first city mayor through the doors on No.10. I hope he passed on the message: abandon HS2 and you lose the Midlands! it ain't just the north the government now has to prioritise.

2020 is going to be a great one for the city region. The build up to the Games will start in earnest plus the run up to Coventry's year in the spotlight will add to the attractiveness of the whole region.

It is a good time to be a midlander.

Stunning. Could with being a tad taller, but nonetheless, stunning.

Very sad to see the Eagle & Tun closing tonight, so much history will be lost :(

It's a real shame that a move to the BCLM couldn't have been secured.

BT Group are to take up most of Three Snowhill with 3-4000 people eventually being based in the hub, more than five times the number currently base in Birmingham.

Link at the bottom with some comments.

BT Group today announced Birmingham’s landmark Three Snowhill development will be its primary new home in the city and provide a future-fit workplace for thousands of colleagues.

The building, in the heart of the city’s business district, will become a key hub with between 3,000 and 4,000 colleagues set to be based there eventually – more than five times the number of people currently based in Birmingham.

BT will occupy the majority of floors in the 17-storey development, marking a major investment by the company in the UK’s second city.

Awesome start for Brum in 2020, ONWARDS AND UPWARDS. (y)

Birmingham's tallest ever building proposal goes to Planning Committee on the 16th of January, with approval recommended, subject to a section 106 agreement.
