For the most relaxing plane spotting head to the Kanoni Cafe in Kanoni which is the end of the line for the Blue Bus number 2A (I think) from Corfu Town. It is great for watching the approach over the sea and the landing on the single airport runway. I think they have moved the town buses since we were there so not certain where they run from from now (was San Rocco Sq I think) but the fare is only about 1/2€ and is even cheaper if you buy a strip of tickets from a Periptero (kiosk) rather than from the driver. (All info from about 6 years ago) Very atmospheric and cheap too. Went there every evening when we were last there. https://www.google.com/maps/place/C...99eaa30!8m2!3d39.6215817!4d19.9184932!5m1!1e2

By the way I also suggest eating at the Avli Taverna which is on the sea front just before the bus heads inland and upwards towards the end of the Kanoni peninsula. Enlarge the Google map linked in the last post for location. I also think that the 2A goes from somewhere near The Liston now. All locals know where The Liston is.

Spotter guide has an excellent round up for many airports including Corfu.

I was quite surprised that we didn't already have a thread for CFU as it is it such a good spotting airport. This was the reason for me including it on the list of european airports. (y)

UPDATE to #4 above

The Blue Bus website and location/routes is here https://www.astikoktelkerkyras.gr/indexeg.php
The number 2A does in fact depart from The Liston and not San Rocco Sq as mentioned previously. Kanoni is in Zone A and the fare quoted is 1.10€ if bought on the bus. Tickets bought from vending machines and peripteros cost less. The map on the website shows the timetables and locations.

If you are travelling outside Corfu City you will need a Green (KTEL) bus and here is a link to their website https://greenbuses.gr/routes-en
The route to the mainland (Thessaloniki) https://ktelmacedonia.gr/en/routes/&tid=20 include a ferry crossing which is an additional cost. KTEL timetables are adjusted according to season and usually get updated about 4 times a year.

Corfu airport was taken over by Fraport last year as part of the Greek Government's money raising efforts. I think there were in total 14 airports taken on a long lease by Fraport and, as a result, Corfu has a new terminal which opened in February 2021. Fraport have spent a bundle of money on improving the infrastructure at their new airports. Corfu was one where it was much needed.
