I can see this being extended into S21, I think it will be S22 until we see a full return of the package holiday not just Jet2
It seems inevitable.

People need to behave in light of restrictions or everything will stop. The news media is full of reported violations because people provide the evidence that becomes the story. The Virus has morphed into something very dangerous that life has to change or loose it!

Away from the thread however but the MSM will report anything that suits their sick evil agenda tbh Jenny. Hypocrite Piers is a prime example - shouts he wants restrictions and buggers off to Antigua. Disgraceful behaviour from people who will continue to receive a wage and not worry about their livelihoods. 25% of British trust the media. I wonder what that % is now. I don't trust a word that comes from Piers, Sky news, BBC, and majority of the print press. Daily Mail seem to be pressing a "this is the data you make your mind up" and Yorkshire Post is the only real investigative print press left. As Thersa May says - you make polices to address the numbers, not numbers to suit the policies.

I would agree with most of the above, but Ed Conway from Sky News has a few videos on YouTube where he explains the numbers, data and projections in a very plain, easy to understand format. One of the few (if any journalists) to point out that even though things are bad atm, they're still not as bad as last spring.

Good to hear Jet2 have come out easily on top of a 'Satisfaction Survey' with regards to the way they have dealt with reimbursement of money to passengers affected by cancelled holidays and flights. 72% said they were satisfied. Sadly the usual suspects scrambled for bottom position. TUI, Ryanair and Virgin.

JET2.COM AND JET2HOLIDAYS TO START BIRMINGHAM TO LISBON FLIGHTS AND HOLIDAYS FROM SEPTEMBER
  • Award-winning flights, holidays and city breaks to Lisbon now on sale from Birmingham Airport
  • September start date announced, following demand from holidaymakers looking to enjoy a much-deserved holiday
  • Holidaymakers can explore the stunning capital in late-Summer and Autumn, enjoy a winter break in Winter 21/22, or a sunshine getaway in Summer 22
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays has announced that it will commence flights and holidays from Birmingham Airport to Lisbon, with services to the new destination operating from September.

On the back of continued demand from British holidaymakers who are looking to plan and book a much-needed holiday this year, customers can enjoy award-winning flights and holidays, as well as city breaks to the stunning capital city of Portugal with Jet2CityBreaks.

The leading leisure airline and package holiday specialist will commence its programme of flights, holidays and city breaks to Lisbon with two-weekly flights (Thursday and Sunday) on sale from Birmingham Airport from 30th September to 28th October. This means that customers can enjoy a late-Summer break in the sun and experience fewer crowds as they explore the monuments and history of the city.

For Winter 21/22, the company will operate Monday and Friday services from 1st November to 25th March 2022, giving customers great choice and flexibility over how long they holiday for, whether it’s a long weekend, a week or longer.

Holidaymakers also have the chance to book ahead, with Lisbon now on sale throughout Summer 22 and into Autumn. Twice-weekly services (Monday and Friday) will be available from Birmingham Airport from 28th March – 11th November 2022.

Customers can look to explore Lisbon’s cobbled alleyways, ancient ruins and white domed cathedrals, as well as the many attractions the city offers. The holiday resorts of Cascais, Estoril and Sintra are all easily accessible from Lisbon for a relaxing break by the coast, or just a day trip away from the city.

Cascais is a traditional and charming Portuguese fishing town with a trio of golden bays, while the town of Estoril on the Portuguese Riviera is famous for its glitzy casino and palm-fringed landscaped gardens. Those looking for extravagant palaces, rippling mountains and opulent mansions can head to the small city of Sintra, which has UNESCO World Heritage status and is home to beautiful parks, castles, and buildings like Pena Palace, Castelo do Mouros and the Quinta da Regaleira.

Holidaymakers can enjoy a visit to the sunniest capital in Europe during the cooler months, as well as during Christmas and the New Year. There are plenty of Christmas markets, fairs, live events and amusement parks to be explored, including Disney on Ice and the Wonderland market, complete with a Giant Wheel and ice-skating rink.

The city’s celebrations continue for the New Year, with live music and a firework display at midnight at the outdoor event Praça do Comércio, plus a display along the river at Belém and smaller celebrations taking place across Lisbon.

As well as booking and travelling on award-winning flights and ATOL protected package holidays, customers get to
experience and enjoy the company’s VIP customer service which has seen Jet2.com and Jet2holidays repeatedly win high-profile accolades such as Which? Recommended Provider and TripAdvisor’s Best Airline – UK and Top 10 Airlines of the World.

This VIP customer service includes friendly flight times and a generous 22kg baggage allowance and two free pieces of hand luggage up to 10kg through a flight-only booking with Jet2.com, which saw the airline win five accolades at the 2020 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice® Awards for Airlines; or that very same VIP customer service, in-resort Customer Helpers, transfers, free child places and ATOL protection with the UK’s second largest tour operator, Jet2holidays.

As a result of this customer-first strategy, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have been praised throughout the pandemic by customers, consumer organisations and independent travel agents for how they have looked after those who have been affected by any programme changes.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “Feedback from customers and independent travel agents is telling us that holidaymakers are wanting to plan and book future getaways this year. The start of flights, holidays and city breaks from Birmingham Airport to Lisbon is an example of how we are meeting that demand and giving customers even more choice when it comes to their next getaway.

“Lisbon is a stunning capital offering the best of both worlds, whether it is exploring the charismatic and vibrant city, or heading to one of its many coastal resorts. With multiple weekly flights available from Birmingham Airport for late-Summer, Autumn and throughout Winter 21/22 and Summer 22, it gives customers and independent travel agents all the flexibility to suit their budgets and needs. This combined with our VIP customer service, means we’re sure that Lisbon and its surrounding coastal resorts will prove extremely popular with holidaymakers in the region who are looking to book ahead and give themselves something to look forward to.”

Tom Screen, Aviation Director of Birmingham Airport said: “It is great news that Jet2.com and Jet2holidays are giving customers of the Midlands something to plan and look forward to, with direct flights to Lisbon from late Summer 2021 through to Winter 2022. Currently unserved from Birmingham, this popular capital city of Portugal appeals to many holidaymakers with its offerings of architecture, cuisine and shopping.”

I’ve booked a weekend in Lisbon on the 30th September... Well priced!

I really don't want to burst the bubble, but you tried booking some of these flights at the "advertised" frequency?

I've just done a dummy BHX HER and it is showing in the booking system as 4 weekly.

Seem's BHX is getting a lot of loving from Jet2 - so much so that for the 2022 peak summer season it is 2nd largest base by weekly frequencies (217 - biggest it's been).

If I recall, Jet2 launched twice EMA-CDG, similar frequency, only to pull it at a later stage and operate it for a number of weeks. I hope CDG stays for BHX.
