Not good for the airport!

As an innocent bystander in all this but nevertheless someone who reads across the forum I cannot help but laugh that an alleged journalist reveals the shock news that LBA is quieter than Heathrow and Gatwick, well no Sh*t Sherlock

When I read stuff like this I always wonder how they got the job in the first place and what the ones who didn't were like.

It seems a fair article though with regards to the current problems, and generally tries to be positive.

But with a few tweaks, I hope one day it will be rebranded as the best airport in the country.

An update on Security as I’ve just been through. Queues from the start of Security at Hall A but moving steadily. Fast track also in use. 2 lanes in operation one for fast track and staff and one for the rest. V well organised staff who were thorough and couldn’t have been more efficient. I paused to congratulate the guy filling the trays doing a great job. They said they’d only started this morning and were 2 hours into their shift. At 1.05pm it took 36 mins from joining the queue to leaving. I’m sure morning flyers will be envious but I’m only using afternoon services until things settle down. So hopefully more new staff will join soon and we can put this problem behind us.

So what I suggest is possible then. If you know Mr Smith has checked in a bag but hasn't been scanned through security you can go look for him in the queue- which given the current situation is where he is likely to be.
Once the decision is made to offload. The decision is final. Load sheets are adjusted and that's that.

Yeah 3pm to 8pm. It's a shame the airport aren't offering a bag drop special for this tbh. Like £2 flat or something!

Its a) extra revenue and b) will relieve some of the pressures 4am to 6am by moving customers into the 3am-4am bracket.

Thats terrible. Its an interesting point though, who is liable if you turn up on time and have followed the guidance? My first inclination is to take the airport to court, its their security screening that caused the problem. Surely they should call passengers forward if there's any possibility of them missing their flight. Did the passengers lose their flights/holiday or did the airline book them on a later flight?
No apparently they lost the holiday completely including the return flight. I understand that they were totally hacked off by the whole experience and vowed never to set foot in LBA again.

The management, if thats the right word, at LBA, have created for themselves a perfect storm. OK when these things happen it needs the Seniors to stop, think things through and above all lead...What doesnt help is that some people are missing flights, which is down to the handing agents, but someone experienced at running airports and infrastructure would have realised this is an ingredient in a perfect storm. It doesnt help when said Senior tells the press that this situation is likely to go on until the end of June :X3:.. People react in usually predictable ways, one of which is to turn up bonkers early to try to ensure their holiday goes ahead. You cannot blame the customers. Sure a lot of the `I wont be back at LBA` brigade will be in time but the dog is presently being given a very bad name.
I wouldn`t be suprised to see some heads roll at the top....Manchester`s already have..
