That only leaves an additional 6 stands available for nightstopping aircraft.
It’s tit for tat but i make only 5 available and more so stands 1, 5 & 6 can only take aircraft up to the 737-300, even the EMB190 struggles on them so there’s no chance of putting the 800’s anywhere near.

I do understand why, however i find it so hard to swallow. Most would say it’s the tip of the iceberg and i suppose they’d be right but I’ve been to many of our UK airports and I’ve yet to see this at any of them other than in extreme circumstances. Concrete is of course expensive there’s no doubting it yet they seem to find a way and they certainly don’t wait until capacity is reached or in our case exceeded. GLA, EDI, EMA, BRS to name a few have all laid extra stand capacity in recent years.

Back to Jet2, I’m really happy things are back on track, future expansion is confirmed with the neo’s and I’ve heard a new base should be announced shortly.

Jet2 have extended the operating period (3 to 4 weeks) of Leeds/Bradford services to Copenhagen and Berlin Brandenburg to bring it into line with the Vienna service, All 3x routes now operate 2x weekly with the additional flights added the week just before Christmas..

Berlin = 2x weekly Mon & Fri (B737-300 - Ops Nov 24th to Dec 18th 2023)
Copenhagen = 2x weekly Thu & Sun (B737-300 - Ops Nov 23rd to Dec 17th 2023)
Vienna = 2x weekly Mon & Fri (B737-800 - Ops Nov 24th to Dec 18th 2023)

Hi,
I’m new on here, my wife and I have a small place in the Algarve which we go to about 6-7 times a year.

Jet2 prices have become insane, Christmas and New Year which we all know is expensive is £1260 for us both without any pre booked seats etc.

We decided to fly out next Thursday for 5 nights and Ryanair were a fraction of Jet2’s prices. They obviously are not bothered about the seat only customer its the full holiday package customer they want.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for your post.

Yes, I agree with you. Seats aren't even available on some flights unless you are on a package! Hopefully Jet2's loss will be Ryanairs gain. I think Jet2 really need to get a grip on their pricing.

i’m pretty sure that a business that has gone from virtually nothing to the country’s biggest tour operator in a little over a decade will have an absolute iron grip on their strategy, business model and pricing.
I think there is an element of trading on their reputation, they obviously feel they can charge a premium for it. Also we have to consider that they seem to be shunning seat only business as a policy. Im not bothered really as long as other airlines at Leeds pick up the business rather than business moving to Manchester.

We are looking at a season where travel is restricted to a short 2 to 3/3.5 weeks. Where all airlines will charge a premium.
Same dates, 21/12 returning 04/01 from MAN with Easy £658.00 for us both. Looks like we could be flying from MAN. Still waiting for Ryanair prices to come live as we prefer LBA as its much smaller, easier and quicker but we wont pay twice the price for that.

So for those of you out there who repeatedly say there isn't enough room for a third major airline on the block at Leeds, here is the proof you're wrong. As much as we (mostly) all like Jet2 we definitely need another airline to drive competition. You can't blame Jet2 for being expensive. They're a business and if people will pay extra for flights from Leeds then obviously they will increase the price to reflect the demand.

Whilst I thoroughly agree with you Aviador there is certainly scope for more competition, but Jet2 prices are similarly high across almost their route network and especially at Manchester where they do face more competition. I agree with other that this seems to be the way they are going now and discouraging the seat only part of their business..I`m sure they`ve made a very hard headed business case for it. In fact on many dates Tui are cheaper over there..

The new A321 Neo G-SUNB is due to visit on Wednesday 3rd May.
Leaving Manchester at 0830. It’ll be in Leeds for a few hours and then head off to EMA (as it stands).

It’s all TBC though.
Maybe there has been an update since I was told the exact same thing last week, however it would take place on Tuesday 2nd May. We will have to wait and see)))))
