    Cathay Pacific

That is at odds with other reports that say down to four per week. Maybe an update, maybe an error but Gatwick has been suspended until the end of March.

    Virgin Atlantic

Hardly, they are slowly and steadily increasing their presence at MAN and as the LHR expansion is going to be a long story - it isn't just the runway that has to be built but new terminal capacity - they will continue to develop at MAN and once the flights are established there would be no point...

    Cathay Pacific

Cathay have announced the suspension of their 4x weekly Dublin service amongst a raft of service downgrades which it is blaming on the current trouble in Hong Kong. Flew on this service last December and whilst Cathay were at their excellent best, the flight was less than half full so the...

    Hainan Airlines

From the end of October Hainan's services from Shenzhen to Dublin and Beijing to Dublin/Edinburgh will be withdrawn. The load factors have been very poor. How is the Manchester service doing and is this an opportunity for growth ex Manchester?

    Cathay Pacific

Flew DUB-HKG-AKL-HKG on the A350-941 and HKG-MAN on the 1000 over the Christmas/New Year period. Flew premium economy. The increased seating is the only real noticeable difference on board. Very similar experience to the B787 but lacks the adjustable windows which is a pain as during the...

I've flown LHR-LAX and HKG -LHR on Virgin 787-9 and HNL -AKL on ANZ 787-9. Compared to any aircraft I've flown on long haul over the last 55 years, (B707, B720, B747-100, 200, 400, B777-200, 300, DC10-30, A300, A330-200, 300 and A380), all in economy, the 787 wins hands down. The...

    New Route List 2017/2018

To be pedantically accurate India/Mumbai are not new. Both the country and city have been served by scheduled services from Manchester previously.

    Route Development & Rumours

For many years in the 1960s SABENA had a summer Sundays only service to Ostend. When they withdrew Britannia took over using Britannias and for one year, (1970 or 1971) operated B707s on the route.

Tangiers was served by both Dan Air and British Airtours in the early 1980s.

    Route Development & Rumours

My first thought is that as, according to official Visit Britain figures, Manchester is the second most visited city by overseas tourists in the UK with Liverpool fourth and Manchester is the lead city outside London for business visits from overseas.
