Hopefully, by the time the winter timetables come into effect on 25th October, we will have seen the end of the Corona outbreak and can look forward to the reintroduction of fresh schedules.

Today we start with TAP Air Portugal

I'm pleased to say that the first copy of the ACL report for W20 has now come onto my desk.

I'll do a resume as soon as possible but, in a nutshell, based on comparing W19 with W20 the figures are not too bad.

Movements - 83,115 +0.7% versus W19
Passengers - 14,137,107 -1.3% versus W19

Air France - Increase from 3 to 4 per day with an overnighter
Air Transat - Increase Toronto from 2 to 4 per week
America - Change from B763 to B788 to Philadelphia
Austrian - Increase from 5 to 6 per week
Blue Island - Twice daily to Exeter and 3 daily to Southampton
British Airways - Increase Heathrow from 7 to 9 per day including an overnighter
Cathay Pacific - A35X Dec/Jan/Feb, A359 other months
Eastern Airways - 4 per day Southampton with ATR72
easyJet - 18 based aircraft. Rome and Sharm el sheik contine from S20
El Al - Cancelled
Enter Air- Cancelled
Ethiopian Airlines - Applied for 4 per week via Brussels to Addis Ababa
Hainan Airlines - Continue at 3 per week with A330
Jet2.com-Lisbon continues from S20
KLM - Increase from 6 to 7 per day
Loganair - New service to Aberdeen twice daily with ATR72
Luxair - 4 times weekly with DHC8-400
Royal Air MAroc-Increase from 2 to 3 per week
Ryanair - New routes are Brussels, Poznan, Vilnius and with Beauvais, Copenhagen, Gerona, Kerry and Pisa continued from S20. Up to 15 based aircraft.
SAS Scandinavian - Stavanger continues from the Summer as does Bergen
Saudia - Jeddah goes daily
TAP Air Portugal - Increase from 7 per week to 21 per week - including an overnighter
TUI Airways - New Banjul service and Varadero goes year round.
Tus Airways - Proposed Larnaca service. Twice weekly with SU9
Virgin Atlantic - All services operated with A330
Vueling - Barcelona increases from 7 to 10 per week.

These are all provisional plans and are subject to change.

If they don't, New York will be poorly served from MAN with Virgin offering, hopefully, a single daily service. A bit different from when we had TCX as well as United operating to NY.

Or does the omission from the list simply signify there is no change from last winter?

Do we really think that Lufthansa, Swiss, Turkish Airline, Emirates, Etihad, PIA and all other regular airlines are collectively pulling their routes as they are not there? And those on the list are only going to do those named routes when they operate several routes in normal rtimes?

The absence of United from that list seems to bear out reports from elsewhere that they aren’t coming back for the foreseeable.

United not on sale this Winter or next Summer from MAN but they are from EDI.
Plenty of time to change but I would not be surprised if all airlines are going to be vary cautious what they start back up.

While it’s great to see so many taking part in this thread today, it’s a shame we never get as many visitors on the MAN threads when there’s good news to report!

As for United, it’s apparently a temporary glitch to to the big corporate contract UA has on the route just renegotiating seat and cargo requirements, and should be back on sale soon. So mop up that salivation at the prospect of MAN loosing a TATL carrier, it’s making a mess!

Based on average life expectancy, I should be about half way through my time on earth. If I'm lucky enough to make the remaining 50% I still don't think I'll ever understand why people treat airports like football teams. Can anyone provide a rational explanation ?

Does anybody really want to go to America at present and if so can they as they are on lockdown with flights unless
you are American.

Of course there are a lot of airlines missing from that list like Ryanair, Easyjet

As Llandudno says 'watch this space'.

What a lot of people appear to have missed is that the list that I posted shows changes to services, it does not say that United have cancelled their plans to serve Manchester.

I am still working on the figures as I like to convert from the PDF to Excel format and I'm not going to pay for the privilege of having the work done automatically for me. I've nearly finished copying everything to Excel so that I can then manipulate and number crunch - oh, isn't life fun??

What could the big increase for Stobart Air be? Taking up ex Flybe routes would be an obvious thing for them to do and it wouldn’t surprise me if they were looking at the likes of BHD. It appears to correspond with that level of growth in ATMs if they operate a route like MAN-BHD with the frequency Flybe used to offer.

BHD would make the most sense to me as the likes of easyJet, Loganair and Eastern have already stepped in elsewhere.
