ROUTE RESUMPTION...
I think the problem with an A321 for a route like Cardiff is that it would be seen as a downgrade compared to other routes with wide bodies and it has less cargo capacity which would be a key thing for the airport.
Were they intended for CWL? I think Qatar resuming in the next few years may be optimistic but it would be a boost for the airport if they did especially for Cardiff's air cargo operation.
Not really much they can do now, maybe they might be able to get a few extra flights from Ryanair but doubtful. I expect that the airport may well concentrate on summer 2024 and getting Vueling and Ryanair to increase what they offer from the airport and maybe get TUI to offer a bit more as well...
A bit of something positive looking at KLM and the default has increased too 21 weekly flights with an overnight on Saturdays now. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday are all E190 days. In total there will be 16 E190 weekly departures and 5 E175 weekly departures. That would be 4080 weekly...
