I did enjoy seeing some of our sun routes doing well this month. Just as one example Faro,
April 2016 BHX 13688 vs 23486 for EMA
April 2017 BHX 30481 vs 24391 for EMA
From 10k behind to 6k ahead. There were other examples to where we were behind last year and are now ahead.
Wonder how much the currency moves since the referendum played into Emirates recent decision.
The pound is approx 20% lower against the dollar since the referendum this could affect them as they book their profits in dollars. In other words a ticket sold for £1000 was worth approx $1500 it is...
No worries, I was more interested in the possible timing of future A380s. I understand there were holes in the calculation. I was just making the point the introduction of the first A380 boosted supply of seats by 10528 in comparison to last Feb and demand has risen 9622.
Someone can correct me if this is wrong, but my understanding is the A380 provides 188 extra seats each way over the two class 777.
So 188 x 2 = 376
376 x 28 days = 10528 extra seats compared with last Feb
This Feb was up 9622 over last year. Using 91.4% of the extra capcaity provided.
