The DfT and CAA reports are due to be announced on 12th March if PIA get a clean bill of health they are then able to restore services to the UK ie LHR/MAN/BHX presumably in that order.
A quick Google according to Heathrow itself they actually have 192 which frankly is just showing off, meanwhile down here a BHX I make we have a measly eleven including the triple for the A380.
Yes I agree that is generally true but certain airlines notably from the Middle East are really arms of the state who have other objectives and the airlines are used as part of them including huge infrastructure projects and other political objectives.
You could include PIA in this but they...
As this is the route development and rumours thread thres been chatter elsewhere that Royal Jordan are looking at BHX for next year following a successful start up at STN and increasing frequency at MAN
To be honest I'd rather see frequency increases by Qatar and Saudi plus Air India...
RSAF C130 due in again this morning from Ganda n/s, also Eastern AT76 due in 11. 02 bringing Newcastle FC for todays thrashing at St Andrews mind you not sure who gets thrashed 😀
Pegasus announced Bhx 5th November 2023 started December 23rd so can be short notice but usually a new service has a significantly longer lead in particularly a new operator Jet2 and Saudi for example spring to mind.
I think currently we will likely just see chopping and changing by the likes...
TUI positioned in a 788 on Sunday morning from Gatwick which then operated to Cancun presumably replacing the poorly 788 diverted to MAN so avoiding further pain all round.
There's a post #1435 on the BHX Ryanair thread by BHX492 who has the inside track- regulatory issue with the CAA regarding RUK routes should be resolved soon,
Given the figures posted by David IT cannot figure how a widebody service would be remotely possible much more likely a reduced frequency on the current Turkish schedule would be the consequence of PIA restarting.
Not convinced PIA are a great idea for BHX currently I would rather see our...
Well Villa play Monaco tommorow and the team would fly out today and Nice is the obvious airport. There is also a jet2 737H to Nice today from the Elmdon side along with the Titan so it seems likely they are footy related but to be fair that's an assumption.
On a different note the previously...
If a European flag/national carrier is not alredy serving MAN they are not likely to serve BHX.
Currently MAN has Austrian, Finnair, Iberia Express, Icelandair, and TAP all operating a schedule plus SAS fly to Norway and Sweden which they don't from BHX.
I would suggest from the above sits...
Heathrow is the problem for BHX.
Had a quick look at some figures for June 2024 the average number of departures to the USA from LHR approximately 130 per day to 31 different destinations with JFK alone having 20 departures..Heathrow handles 25% of all European passengers to America and...
Another Silkway 744 due in today f/t Baku along with a Sky Cargo 767 from Bahrain just wondering if its anything to do with yesterdays 737H also from Bahrain which is still at BHX. shows as a night stopper.
The regular Maersk 767 also in later today f/t Billund.
