On a different note and I’m sure it’s been mentioned before but I’ve missed it…
What’s going on next to the Viking car park? Extending the parking?
They appear to be building up the banking next to the 14 loop. Please tell me this is the start of facilitating either a parallel taxi way or at...
The CLUEDs are with regard to night flying quotas not a new terminal building.
The previously proposed terminal is still part of their future plans so it makes sense to get approval in place whilst our Esteemed chancellor is supportive.
She’s so full of …. It hurts. I honestly pity anyone in herd ward that voted for this woman.
However. I still maintain now is the time to resubmit those plans while the iron is hot.
If they tried to put a passenger cap in there as has been suggested might happen they can still just pull them...
I’m curious to know what’s stopping the airport resubmitting the plans given that they are clearly part of it 2030 plans. The plans are complete as previously submitted so the only costs really would be the resubmission.
In theory the current government (much as I do not rate them) is proving...
Other way around. 3a 200m, 3b 75m.
Not just company and crew but aircraft fit. Most are 3a due to the costs of 3b for the number of times it’s actually needed
Yep, get that application (which includes amendments to night time hours remember) back in now whilst there’s a sympathetic central government.
Never thought I’d say that about our current shower!
Then sit on the approval like they did the current extension.
So I’ve had a look at the booking engine and using the Monday IBZ as an example I suggest that flight is not LBA aircraft.
Out - LBA 06:35 IBZ 10:25
Return - IBZ 11:20 LBA 13:15
(or) IBZ 13:40 LTN 15:30
Out - LTN 16:20 IBZ 19:55
(or) LBA 16:20 IBZ 20:10
Return - IBZ 20:25 LBA 22:50
Whilst...
Sorry, have I missed something here. Where has it been announced it will be an LBA based aircraft and crew operating the LTN W patterns?
Or is it just an assumption based on the announcement that there will be 15 based aircraft (2+2=5?)
These people are NIMBYS, end of. My outlaws live off Scotland lane. We stayed with them recently, admittedly the first 2 nights I noticed the aircraft. But Trust me, by night 3 your subconscious blocks the noise, I genuinely didn’t hear them.
At the end of the day these people will complain...
An example of why until they improve their reliability at LBA I cannot use them to transit to long haul. It’s sad really as they’re one of only 2 options to transit to long haul from LBA
Different companies use different performance tools and companies can increase their safety margins if they see fit. If ATC or the ATIS report ‘heavy rain’ that’s what must be used for performance calculations, even just a shower, if it’s present at the time and the aircraft is close to div fuel...
If Heavy Rain is reported the landing performance calculations must be made using a very restrictive Braking Action (Medium/Poor) this leaves the 737 unable to land.
