Just checked the plans and unless they have changed again there is space for around 5 desks or bag drop points in the space created when the old CSZ is moved. This is separate from the new arrivals meet and greet area.

Whilst that is true the refurbished terminal will have a 10 year life at least so a straight glass walled terminal extension to the front wouldn't add a significant amount of space but it would be enough space to make it feel open and ary.

Where will that be? I know the location for the new CSZ will be in the central part of the terminal where the current arrivals sits. Obviously they won't want queues crossing each other for the CSZ and people wanting to use check-in or bag drop areas. Also It's still not clear how passengers...

It sounds a nice idea but let's face it, the majority of London bound traffic as a hub airport will have passengers continuing onto the continent. BA aren't going to move to the regions and reduce their hub operation.
