Thanks LBA4EVER. Appreciated.
Those NIMBY folk turn up at every single one of these events. Its a obsession. Shame they have nothing better to do with their sad lives.
If so, why are airlines such as Saudia buying loads of A321s, with the specific intention of starting more routes to places previously unserved, when the A321 doesn't lend itself to carrying any significant cargo?
And, why would LBA management spend so much time chasing an operator to that...
Even if DSA does re-open, it's over 2 years away. Why would Easyjet put their plans on the back burner for nearly 2.5 years and then risk an airport they failed spectacularly at last time. I don't buy it. Easyjet are not an airline that takes risks.
You should have asked for multiple leaflets so you could distribute them. Then tear them up in front of her. Its people like her that lead me not to attend. Im afraid I might end up getting arrested!
Why don't these politicians spell out the risk that DSA may not attract airlines to provide any significant services, which I am sure isn't what these supporters are expecting. So, what airlines are there? Several have disappeared along with DSA. Its harder now than it was before!
BA. - no...
There were reports on line that Jet2 737 800 G-JZBK, suffered a wing strike on Tuesday whilst landing in crosswinds at BRS. Reports stated it went around, landing second time with a fire brigade accompaniment. Photos show the lower blade of the scimitar wingtip was damaged. Other flights...
They can still be within the gateway passing over Burley. Being there doesn't mean its off track. This is the problem. If they're over Burley, people complain. If they're over Menston, people complain. The Gateway is pretty wide !
The difference is that LBA is a growing and successful airport with a very large catchment area. DSA is none of those things. Its currently not even an airport.
LBA management cant attract such airlines without making an effort. They could take the view there's no chance, stay at home and just...
He's talking rot. The gateway is actually quite wide and anywhere within it is fine. Only a very small number of aircraft stray outside it, usually due to weather, weather avoidance or issues with the aircraft instrumentation on a particular type or airline. LBA always monitor this and work with...
Oh no! What will DSA do then? No TUi and no other airlines to operate as partner airlines either? Eastern gone too.
Looking like Virgin Atlantic and Emirates then!
Not LBA related, but there are reports on line that Jet2 737 800 G-JZBK, suffered a wing strike tonight whilst landing in crosswinds at BRS. Reports stated it went around, landing second time with a fire brigade accompaniment. Photos show the lower blade of the scimitar wingtip was damaged...
So, they probably didnt bother then. There's no way, in my opinion, they've assessed the impact on LBA, 20% of whose passengers they think they'll nick (putting people out of work in the process - in their dreams) or EMA whose cargo ops they think they'll nick too. Except they won't. They...
