I thought since the A320 has been in the news today, and we already have forums about Worldwide airports and Worldwide airlines, it might be worth starting a thread about aircraft.
To avoid pointless mud-slinging of the Boeing vs Airbus competition, I would ask that "Boeing is rubbish" and...
TBH Top of my personal wish list is a direct Turkish Airlines link to Istanbul, especially as they are gearing up to run an A350-1000 directly and non-stop to Sydney. THY have been doing well of late.

Don't Montego Bay and Cancun count as transatlantic flights then?
Just kidding, I know what you mean. BA and Continental (and probably others) tried a regular flight to JFK and EWR (Newark, NJ) respectively without success. I asked one American colleague I knew and he said he was happy to go...
IMO from YYZ, Air Transat looks to be more likely - they already go LGW, MAN and GLA, and an A330 would take advantage of CWL's slightly longer runway compared to BRS
Yeah, we get this. IMO the airport management are doing as good a job as can be expected to re-grow the airport back to where it was before the pandemic, but it's a long job.
Still, passenger figures have been encouraging so far this year, largely thanks to the efforts of Tui*, and the KLM link...
Well, if it ain't over till Charlie Alpha Alpha says it's over:

... it's over
Big shame - it's only a month or two since I was looking at the Wikipedia entry, which details how they basically came from...
Not the third. Andy Jones was appointed as an interim measure whilst a permanent Chief Executive was being recruited.
MAN is failing miserably under public ownership, isn't it ...
I still think if Farage's lot take control of the Senedd next year, they will flog the airport to the asset strippers.
I wonder if BA would be interested in buying it so they can continue to use their maintenance hangars? The whole airport would cost less than the price of a new A320 or B737...
Good to see demand holding up for the Amsterdam flights. I expect a drop in September (from 2024) with all the shenanigans at Schipol. (Or was that earlier this month ...?)
Did Tui do this again in W24/5? Did they ever sell tickets to anyone not going on the Marella cruises?
Would have been great to have had a regular direct flight BHX-SIN. When I went to NZ in December 2022, I went BHX-FRA-SIN-AKL to avoid the dreaded LHR ...
What a shame, the A220 is such a nice plane, and potentially a game-changer for skinny long haul, with its combination of range and fuel economy. Airbus must be sorry they took it on, with only a single engine option and controls which makes flying it completely different to the rest of their...
Having skimmed through this thread I see that Qatar were running a Boeing 787-8 on this service, and getting load factors of around 50%. This clearly is not going to make any money.
Use a smaller plane, perhaps?
There's a lot of excitement around about running shorter long haul with the A321LR...
What's happening with KL1088 this week? 13-45 minutes late taking off every day. Are they short of staff to get the plane ready, or is it a issue with slots?
