Manchester Airport Transformation Programme - Terminal 2 work only

The 777-9 is larger than the A350-900/1000 and in length the 747 so it seems clear that 106, 110 and 112 can all accept an A350 or 747. The question is still which stands can currently accept an A350/747 via an Airbridge. It seems 106 can accept an A350-900 and most likely the A350-1000 but had...

Manchester Airport Transformation Programme - Terminal 2 work only

This is my take on the even number stands on the new Pier 1 from OAN updates and posts/images I’ve seen online. The odd number stands on the opposite side of the pier appear to be envisaged as primarily narrow body stands for 737 NG/Max and A320 series

Manchester Airport Transformation Programme - Terminal 2 work only

I read on one forum that at least one of the stands I think 106 has shown no issue with the A350. It was 110 I believe that showed the issue apparently “airbridge wouldnt get to the L2 door without hitting the engine and was 2 feet short of the L1 door.” Stand 110 is on the left of the image...

    Manchester Airport - General Thread

I just wondered if anyone knew why B pier lost the airbridges that were installed when B pier was refurbished at what I’m sure was no small cost. I know that those stands are frequently used by EasyJet but as an airline they aren’t totally adverse to using airbridge. I’ve been on Thomas Cook...

Manchester Airport Transformation Programme - Terminal 2 work only

I think there are a few logical reasons. Pier 3 will add a number of widebody gates (including an A380 gate) and the Emirates lounge, which facilitates moving over the likes of Emirates, Etihad and possibly Thomas Cook A330’s in 2022. It also allows for the connection of the existing (but...

Manchester Airport Transformation Programme - Terminal 2 work only

I have read reports that at least some of the stands designated for Wide body aircraft on Pier 1 are not able to currently accommodate a 747 or A350. This has been put down to difficulties docking the new airbridges without potentially impacting the aircraft wing/engine in the case of the 747...

Manchester Airport Transformation Programme - Terminal 2 work only

I’m intrigued how they will use the glass roof of T2 when it is refurbished. I’m very excited about the new terminal but like others I’m disappointed that the main atrium area in T2X lost its glass roof. I completely understand it’s a cost saving and has probably allowed for an increase in...

Manchester Airport Transformation Programme - Terminal 2 work only

Is this in the opinion of forum members the current scheduled dates for completion of each area of the build? Will be interesting with Pier C it doesn’t look like they will add another level. I wonder if they will remove all of the gates facing T2 and have gates on 1 side only. It will increase...
