He’ll be hastily looking on a map to see where Leeds is!
He lived in Leeds for 3 years when at Uni, .... also a Leeds Rhinos fan - for what its worth.

Putting on yet another pair of flip flops.
Labour should be renamed Liberal London elite party. There is a HUGE gap in the market to take the whole sweep of the country at the moment, centre ground, sensible conversation and future proofing the country. Something governments fail to do.
I don’t know if you’re referring to my post. But mine is to with LBA as he was questioned on the LBA plans which I think is relevant to this thread.Question. What have the last few posts got to do with
Infrastructure, Construction & Developments?
Sorry but you need to deal in facts, and not emotions.
Don't just read a couple of posts and assume the thread is off-topic. If you read back through the previous posts you will understand how this discussion has ended up here. I refer to when the Labour leader was asked if he thought LBA should see its new terminal development go ahead.Question. What have the last few posts got to do with
Infrastructure, Construction & Developments?
EZY and BA are only here to replace 2 lost operators, BA have done this across a range of airports, this is the only reason we have these operators.
For west yorkshire and the leeds city region to have an airport like it currently is really is abysmal, we can chat about this forever but until we get better infrastructure we will see no growth, no exciting new routes and no new airlines that im sure of.
Every airport large and small in this country are seeing new routes and airlines, everyone but LBA, there is a reason for this! Im sorry i sound so negative but we need to face the truth here!
I’m bringing this one to the infrastructure thread as that’s what the discussion is and nothing to do with Vueling as such. The truth is simple @LBA4EVER.
The local infrastructure around the airport will struggle and will continue to do so. Even with a railway station they it will still struggle as we fail with joined up thinking. That motorway link @White Heather alluded to would of been so beneficial. But it appears we are have citizens opposite to Manchester with a selfish attitude. We have a bunch of Selfish self serving Labour Mp's who clearly are more extinction rebellion MP's than Labour.
As for the airport terminal and constantly bombarding us with that it needs improving or we need a new one as its the reason we don't get carriers.
Veuling are a "away" based airline. They come into Leeds from overseas. Therefore they will be utilising the airport in it's quieter periods whenever that may be. Afternoon is a bit different however the "wave" or "peak" is far more spread out than that of a morning. Yes we need an improved terminal. Yes it is congested at peak. But some common sense and you'll see there is something to attract the airline. A rich catchment area, routes that have yet to reach full potential from Yorkshire region. There is masses upon masses of potential that this city, region and airports can achieve. Sadly, as we know, that will never be reached. But there is some of that potential then can still be unlocked even with current terminal facilities.
We also need to remember Veuling served LBA before. Maybe Barcelona wasn't the best route given at that time Monarch and Jet2 were on it. But now there is the need to serve the Catalonia capital in competition with Jet2. Unless Ryanair get there first.
I think it’s more of a tactic to stop their neighbouring airport from succeeding.Apparently one of the objectors was BOH airport which seems a dirty tactic from them..
It's business. I see nothing wrong with it.Apparently one of the objectors was BOH airport which seems a dirty tactic from them..
Chances are that he doesn't yet know he has a decision to make! LBA will still be down the bottom of his in tray. It's business. I see nothing wrong with it.
The Welsh Government that owns Cardiff Airport formally objected to Bristol Airport's expansion planning application and in the 90s Bristol Airport was one of the objectors when a public enquiry considered BAE's application to turn Filton airfield into a city airport - something the secretary of state eventually rejected. I believe both those actions too were legitimate attempts at protecting their own businesses.
Although judicial reviews look at the legal process and not the merits of the decision itself, the SOU circumstance and the recent successful appeal by Stansted airport against a planning rejection (where a High Court judge also subsequently rejected a judicial review application against the appeal being allowed) are encouraging signs when it comes to the sec of state's ultimate decision regarding LBA. I'd love to know what is causing the delay to the minister's decision.
Neither objected. In fact, DSA expressed support stating that both airports needed to develop to serve Yorkshire better. Jolly decent of them really!I understand it is all business but looking at the bigger picture, any investment in the industry is a positive at the moment. Would be interesting to know if DSA/MAN objected LBA's plans? & Vice Versa with LBA/LPL objecting MAN's terminal etc if anybody knows?
Yes, not only did BOU object, they were also the instigator of one if the two applications for a Judicial Review and now claim to be 'disappointed' and considering their options. They can appeal within 7 days.Apparently one of the objectors was BOH airport which seems a dirty tactic from them..
