Factually correct yes. But yet put 2+2 together to get 5 without even reasoned debate. Which I've said below so I'll say here, we all had. Resonated, sensible, healthy debate and come to the conclusion 1 A330 on lease is operationally going to cause bigger problems and harm the reputation ....

We have a difference of an opinion. However I've not been rude at all. I've simply called it out. The speculation doesn't help an airline and to speculate over the fact they have a sole A330 which they plan to use on the short haul sectors. Yet the account didn't just speculate ... it almost said it was Jet2. A give away - a few clues. It wasn't a "wonder if a new carrier will enter the long haul market" it was almost dead certain this will be Jet2.

I mean I've not personally attacked anyone, I've said, that post is wrong. And I had this debate with several other members without you getting involved and it was healthy. Exact same points I'm making to you. Must be your twitter account as you've jumped to defence without even understanding some of the points I'm making or entertaining a healthy debate. Unlike other members.

I'm going to leave it here as we are going around in circles. Quite clear it's your twitter account and I've upset you.
Agreed to leave it there but I remain in the opinion you were rude, and that you have jumped to a conclusion wrongly. It was speculation based on clues and nothing more than wondering if it could have been Jet2, yet you seem to think the words were gospel that it was Jet2 definitely launching long haul when no such words were said, you are putting your own words into the context of something that wasn’t said, everyone can see the tweet, it’s unedited and it’s pure speculation and nothing more.

so you are wrong in your assertion about the tweets and that’s the final word I have to say on it.

Sherburnflyer92 - The SPD_Travels Twitter feed is one of THE best sources out there for keeping enthusiasts like us well informed. I don't see any account by you doing a similar job for the community - all free of charge? Accounts like SPD and Sean_M put in the hard work involved, and whilst they don't overtly ask for thanks, they certainly don't appreciate trolling from sour individuals who carp when one rumour amongst many doesn't come to fruition.

If you don't like it, just don't read it. Individuals like you eventually draw that "why do I even bother?" response from great sources who then go dark to the detriment of the rest of us. Would that make you feel good about yourself? Just leave it.

I for one would rather know about rumours - in full knowledge that they may not come to pass - than wait for verified press releases only. If you demand the latter, stick to the airline media and leave twitter for the rest of us.

I thought forums were for giving our views weather liked or not. Sherburnflyer was just giving his view that the rumour wasn’t true.

If you want the rumour feeds to go silent, trolling them is the right way to go about it. There is a difference between respectful discussion and "wrong again" unpleasantness.

Wording could have been put better but they were just putting an end to the rumour.

Wouldn’t call it unpleasant. Nor disrespectful. I tried to entertain the user with discussion. Expect because I’ve used common sense, applied logic, and said that one A330 going across the Atlantic for seasonal winter route won’t work and isn’t jet2 … the user couldn’t handle it.

I’m all up for rumours and appreciate accounts like SeanM. But if you can’t handle debate like other uses on here (see previous posts with @Coathanger16 as example) I’m not called out for been disrespectful etc. No it’s called reasoned debate - and as I’ve always said. Over text people interpret it different. Not my fault.

Correct. Which user/Twitter account user doesn’t like. Oh dear….

Lots of 'experts' on this forum on the various topics but when it comes to Jet2 then Sherburn should be the one to listen to.

Then his informed input is most welcome, but his condescending put-downs towards other valued contributors to the enthusiast knowledge base are unnecessary. There is no need for the "wrong again" rhetoric aimed at an account with an outstanding record of accuracy.

EDIT: Message crossed with that of Sherburnflyer92 (above) but I stand by my comment that respectful engagement is the way to go.

That’s how you interpret the text. That’s the biggest downfall of text based forums.

I certainly think Jet2 could be the answer to certain UK airport "long-haul problems". I am talking about EWR, of course.
A short winter season from, perhaps October to New Years from initially MAN and STN w/A330 to try it out, then expansion with the A321 to other bases - BHX, NCL, GLA, LBA and LPL seem good candidates to at least try a New York route.
Now a summer service to the Big Apple may have to wait a few years until they have enough A321, but with the withdrawal of United from the UK regions in the later 2010s there will be a market for these routes.

A twice or thrice weekly A321 during October shouldn't do too bad from the likes of Birmingham and Glasgow.

That’s what they did in 2019. They used the A332 to New York from all bases that they flew to EWR from except LBA which still used the B752.

Shall we leave things there. Both sides are repeating the same views like a stuck record.

Back to Jet2 @ MAN please...
Agreed. This has gone on long enough. There is no problem with healthy debate, but it should not descend into personal comments. Now, let's get back to the topic of Jet2 at MAN.

Jet2 to operate 2 new routes for Summer 2025 from Manchester.

Porto and Pula- Which has been operated in the past.

Porto- 2 Weekly flights on Thursday and Sundays starting March 27th 2025.

Jet2 getting ready to split its Manchester operations again between T1 and T2, with a slightly increased presence at T1 this year compared to last due to the ongoing construction for MANTP.
Some Turkey routes (Izmir, Bodrum, Dalaman), along with Portugal (Faro) have moved over to T1. T2 has picked up some of the lower frequency routes from T1 (Nice, Bergerac, Bourgas, Olbia among others...)

Any updates regarding final 757 retirements? Struggling to find any in the schedules beyond Feb 2025.

I'm flying Jet2 to Faro next month and hadn't even noticed it was for T1 until you posted! And I was just about to book a lounge too!

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
