I think Sean has got the year wrong though.
Yeah. 1 month to go is short notice even for the bigger airports!

It looks like it’ll be a Saturday, unless some schedules change it’s looking more likely we’ll see a second aircraft based in the winter. Haven’t seen the times yet mind.

On a side note, it always makes me chuckle that Sean M announces it before the airport. Almost as if the airport doesn’t find out until they see it on various Twitter and a Facebook feeds!

It will be a two aircraft base for Winter 25/26 now, which is excellent news !

TUI have built a great brand and offering from CWL in recent years, and continue to build. One positive from Jet2 staying away is that it gives TUI the freedom of operating without waging a war on prices for passengers (So I would of course argue there remains a significant space still for them to grow into, for both Summer and Winter).

This is what Summer 2026 for TUI looks like at the moment
48 weekly departures, 4 of which are non based. This is an increase of 1 weekly departure on Summer 2025 with Mallorca going from 6 to 7 weekly with the addition of a flight on Wednesdays.

Palma de Mallorca 7 weekly (1 non based)
Tenerife South 3 weekly
Dalaman 3 weekly
Antalya 3 weekly (1 non based other carrier)
Enfidha 2 weekly
Menorca 2 weekly
Ibiza 2 weekly
Alicante 2 weekly

With the announcement today that LPA will have two weekly flights and FUE launching, both extending into summer 2026, it looks like LPA has been moved to a Monday and Thursday, freeing up space for FUE on Saturday. It means there's a clash on a Monday and Thursday afternoon. On both days there's an AYT flight, so I wouldn't be surprised if they go to a W pattern or non-based carrier like the Friday flight.
On the basis of FUE starting it will mean 50 flights per week with 5 W pattern or non-based carrier flights as the Wednesday PMI flight goes to W pattern.

Cheers for that. It’s really good to see some days with 9 TUI departures. A really good boost and hopefully it will lead to a 4th based aircraft.

I would be quite surprised if 2027 didn't see a 4th based aircraft and there's still the possibility of 2026. Looking at the schedule its quite probable that CWL will have 3 based aircraft and up to 7 non based flights. Those 7 non based are potentially half of a based aircraft schedule.

To note that the first flight out to Fuerteventura on 20/12 departs CWL at 13:30. I've booked to be on that first flight. The 10:00 departures start from 27/12. Schedules can change between now and then though but they are good flight times nevertheless.

For the record the holiday from CWL was cheaper than from BRS staying at the same hotel.

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.

Well over 4 million steps taken this year already. And about 12,500 photos.
The joys of travel. Train from Edinburgh to Leeds is cancelled so having another night in Edinburgh and heading back in the morning!
Tbf Edinburgh isn't a bad city to be stuck in.
A week off work done which resulted in 6 day trips , 50 miles walked and only 2500 photos, Going to work is more of a holiday as I tended to be out of my flat an hour earlies in my week off and back for after 8pm
