I imagine Jet2 would be more than willing to provide some Jet2 branded kids play toys. I'm not too sure the airport would be so keen to give up some premium space to offer that type of facility though?

On another note, I see Manchester airport has joined Birmingham airport on a water bottle refill scheme. The scheme allows departing passengers to refill their water bottles after they have passed the security process.

I don't think it will be long before LBA and other airports are forced to follow suit given the amount of waste produced by the confiscation of full bottles at the CSZ. LBA will be reluctant to offer free drinking water as the sales of water through the airport retail outlets will be substantial.
LBA does offer this option either at any of the drinks concessions if you queue and ask, and I have been told the last time I filled up at the bar by the SA area, that now facilities to fill up empty bottles in the toilet areas (not seen by me, but may have missed). We always take empty bottles and fill, and never had an issue to refill at any bar..
The airport would be foolish to promote plastic bottle use as passengers are in trouble with their carbon footprint and airports need a positive message.

Great looking shops. Thanks for the pictures @B737 and @Offint

More choice of shops is what passengers frequently ask for so I for one welcome the airports efforts to bring more brands to the airport. As for the Leeds United shop being quiet, football isn't going to be for everyone but Leeds still has a good foreign following particularly from the Irish and Danish. At the prices football clubs charge for kit it won't take many sales for the shop to earn its keep.

I think that in the case of the LUFC shop, they are looking for holiday makers who want to wear their shirts abroad and realise they either have forgotten to pack theirs, or they would like the latest incarnation of the shirt, or foreign passengers who have learned to love LUFC in the short time they have been here. Either way, not that many. I did wonder if opening at LBA was the right place given that a fair percentage of the passengers going through will support other clubs.

I hope the LUFC shop does well, but I wont be buying one to wear (maybe as a gift) and I certainly wont be going to any resorts where I expect to find tourists wearing football shirts.

I see the airport are advertising on its social media accounts that the new "In Motion" electronics store has opened inside the airside departure lounge.

Looking at the LBA website - they are recruiting for Greggs team members - presume a new store will be opening in the terminal somewhere - not sure if its airside or landside

I think landside from what I saw reported elsewhere.

Will I be able to take my steak bake through security?

hi bigman

Well over 4 million steps taken this year already. And about 12,500 photos.
The joys of travel. Train from Edinburgh to Leeds is cancelled so having another night in Edinburgh and heading back in the morning!
Tbf Edinburgh isn't a bad city to be stuck in.
A week off work done which resulted in 6 day trips , 50 miles walked and only 2500 photos, Going to work is more of a holiday as I tended to be out of my flat an hour earlies in my week off and back for after 8pm
according to some people, you only need 1 day in each of the Yorkshire Dales, North Wales and Lake District "to have seen it all". Which is why its minibus tour number 3 this year of the Yorkshire Dales for me on 16th October. Different routes and different things to see each tour.
Apologies for any issues today, I was planning on updating the site but sadly something went wrong so the upgrade has been postponed. Apologies again for any inconvenience caused.
