I can take you in a Cherokee for around £120 per seat 2 hrs direct from Sherburn or Leeds cost sharing of course.

Although yesterday’s inbound Glasgow flight was cancelled, the return still operated albeit with a 2 hour delay.

Hat’s off to Logan Air for at least maintaining a partial service. Looks like they positioned a 340 empty all the way from Kirkwall !

Well, perhaps when the route becomes Loganair and not Flybe, the fares will be better. The airporto did say that there is a new, lower fare structure in place which has seen passenger numbers increase. That doesn't necessarily mean more flights or even more reliable - just more passengers on them. And, if the passenger numbers increase, you would imagine that the LBA route might not prove to be the first to be axed every time there is a problem.

Loganair have just released Glasgow - Leeds/Bradford flights for sale commencing from September 1st once the current franchise agreement with flybe finishes. https://www.loganair.co.uk/

The exsiting timetable will be kept but new flight numbers are applied
MON,TUE,WED,THU
LM290 = GLA: 07:00 - LBA: 08:10 / LM291 = LBA: 08:40 - GLA: 09:45
MON,TUE,WED,THU,FRI
LM294 = GLA: 17:25 - LBA: 08:30 / LM295 = LBA: 19:00 - GLA: 20:05

Those flight numbers have a familiar ring to them. I'm fairly sure they are the same as when Loganair operated GLA-LBA post Capital. The same flight numbers subsequently passed to Manx Airlines Europe then British Midland.

LBA-GLA to be discontinued apparently from 1st September 2017. Tickets are maxed out from that date all showing as 'sold out'

Well this is a bit disappointing. I am supposed to be on the flight on 24 November. Nothing received from LM yet, but as you say the flights are all showing as "sold out" now.

And that is with an LBA fan running Loganair. So disappointing and contrary to what was stated not too long ago.

Your not going to believe this. Loganair have just confirmed to me on twitter that they will no longer been operating the Glasgow - Leeds route after next week, Flights actually finish Friday, August 4th 2017.

They have even had the cheek to suggest I use there Manchester service instead. Been a true Yorkshire Man I'm not having any of that so asked Eastern Airways if they are up to the challenge?

Appologise, the reason for this not being bookable is we will no longer be operating this route as from the 4th August. Michael

Monthly Passenger stats on LBA-GLA gone up for past 7 months? Is this because of the airfare war @flybe & its franchise @EasternAirways

No. We’ve tried very hard to increase passengers, unfortunately it’s not sustainable. Hope to see you on our Manchester route.

Sounds like we need to get Snowman on the case and find out what is going on with his mate Mr H!!

This at a time just before a ridiculous battle of attrition is about to start between Loganair and Flybe in September on the MAN-GLA route seeing up to 8x daily rotations... can't see the logic in the decision to scrap an uncontested route with growing passenger figures.

Here's Loganair's Leeds/Bradford-Glasgow CAA Passenger stats for past 9 months,

2016
Sep = 903 +9%
Oct = 1062 +83%
Nov = 1165 +126%
Dec = 458 +51%

2017
Jan = 763 +55%
Feb = 1079
Mar = 1231 +65%
Apr = 770 +67%
May = 1036 +53%

I'ld be shocked if Eastern Airways didn't have a look at this using a BAe Jetstream 41. Some of these figures are quite higher than both there Southampton and Aberdeen route that operate 3/4 daily.

So I have asked LBA's number 1 fan (supposedly) what is going on and the thinking behind it but no reply as yet. This has to be prime for T3 to get going at and it wouldn't surprise me if this becomes a Flybe franchise route op by T3 as they could see it as a way to hurt Logan. They may already be considering it which is what has influenced Logan's decision to axe now.

Yes, LBA have confirmed they were told this morning that the route will finish on 4th August. I agree, Eastern operating it on a franchise basis with Flybe makes a lot of sense. The J41 is around the right size for the route as it is at the moment.

Also reading elsewhere on here that Logan are looking at going head to head with BE on BHX to Scotland. They must need our Saab for that. T3 stepped in on a lot of Citywing routes so LBA - GLA must potentially be more viable than some of those, esp on a J41. Perhaps even a consideration could be LBA - GLA - LBA - CWL - LBA - GLA - LBA - CWL -LBA - GLA - LBA offering similar to how Capital used to do. T3 and BE have a presence at all three airports and perhaps helps top up pax numbers on the direct CWL -GLA BE service as well. Just a thought!

It would be beneficial to hang on to the Glasgow route in some shape or form but Eastern ? Let's not forget the recent and ongoing crewing issues and positioning aircraft all over the place. And that's with just two routes from Leeds. Could Eastern cope with a third route ? However, I don't see a barrage of airlines falling over themselves to pick up the route so Eastern could well be the least worst, or only, option.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
