Re: CAA Provisional Statistics Update

I wish I hadnt started this !! feeling depressed now. Just seen a nice Dornier J328 land on 14 [ M-BETY ] so happy again.

Was Warsaw mentioned?

Not all of the routes listed were lost after a short period, some will have been going for sometime suggesting perhaps another airline operator might be able to do the routes with a different business plan. eg. low cost instead of business.

There's nothing to say a business route wouldn't work with a different business airline and the same could be said for the low cost model. How many canned Jet2 routes would probably work nicely with say Easyjet or Ryanair?

I wonder if easyjet can be tempted to take on the Leeds - Geneva service year round with 2x weekly A319's in the summer now that it looks like Jet2 will be winter only. Especially if they can get a tour operator onboard like Jet2 have done so in the past.

What I did find interesting this weekend is the rumour that they will be no further expansion next summer as the airport have told the airlines there is no place to park aircraft over night and they will have to wait until Summer 2015 instead. That's unless you use non based aircraft of course!

But wait Isn't this the airports fault for not expanding the apron, Or should I say Bridgepoint not spending money yet again?

PS, Newcastle has just regained its Brussles link to be operated by bmi regional 2x daily from March 2014. I wonder if anyone will look into reopening the Leeds - Brussels route

Pretty poor effort if no expansion cos there not enought parking places, surely this should have been addressed by now

It would be a poor effort....if it were true. It isn't.

Like I said in my original post it was just a rumour that I had been told this past weekend and thought I'll share with everyone on here to see if anyone else knew anything about it!

LS16 if the rumour is not true do you know what plans are in place to accommodate any extra flights or based aircraft? That's of course if you allowed to share the info..

To be honest I'd rather see sucessful consolidation and hopefully expansion of the BA Shuttle Service to Heathrow. Would not wish to see it losing point to point passengers to LGW

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
