User wingwalker has reported this mornings LBA outbound flight to Malaga the LS185 has diverted into Manchester with a flaps problem.

As a result, at around 1210pm this afternoon (18th) G-CELJ departed MAN to AGP as LS185A. At the moment I am not sure whether it had passengers onboard or whether it was to pick up passengers waiting in AGP on the return flight, but I'm sure people will be able to add details to this as they become available.

[textarea]Incident: Jet2 B733 at Manchester on Aug 26th 2011, flaps problem

A Jet2 Boeing 737-300, registration G-CELC performing flight LS-884 from Pisa (Italy) to Manchester,EN (UK), aborted the approach to Manchester while descending through 4000 feet due to problems with the flaps. The aircraft entered a holding for troubleshooting and burning fuel and landed safely at a higher than normal speed about 30 minutes later and taxied to the apron.

A passenger on board reported that they received no information from the crew however noticed they were holding for about 30 minutes prior to landing. After touchdown the engines on reverse were much noisier than normal and the roll out took unusually long. 6 fire trucks attended the aircraft. The captain announced after landing that he didn't want to alert the passengers, they were anticipating hot brakes during the landing and therefore had emergency services on standby.

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
