I'm not crazy about it. It just reinforces old fashioned stereotypes as to what Yorkshire's all about.

However, if it gets people talking and if it makes people realise how many destinations there are from LBA, and if it raises the airports profile, then it's done it's job, whether we like it or not I guess. Theres probably a reason why publicity consultants do what they do and we don't.

Ultimately, nobody is going to not fly from LBA because they object to this campaign but quite a few new passengers might. Many will find it amusing and memorable. We've complained on here loads about lack of publicity. Right now there's loads of publicity on line, and now on the buses and we still complain because it's not what we wanted, but we are not the 'experts'.

Despite not being what I would have preferred, I'm happy that they are making a concerted effort to increase the profile if the airport, and if it works I don't care how they did it.

Maybe we should ask forum members for suggestions.

Here's mine: 'Up and away from LBA'

It would seem the are a few arm chair CEO’s on this thread
If you could have done better, maybe you’re in the wrong job and should have applied for a job in LBA’s marketing team.
Go on what you waiting for, get them CV’s sent in!

I actually quite like the Ey up!, and it’s about time the airport started advertising. We’ve all criticised them on here in the past due to lack of it.

I don't care for all the 'e by gum' nonsense either. It signals a lack of sophistication and seriousness. In a similar vein, I can't be doing with cinematic garbage like Kes and Brassed Off. Those attitudes haven't aged well and have no place in promoting business nowadays.

Well, It has got us talking and taking note. As WH said, if it get's joe public talking, more people aware of what is available from LBA, then surely it has done its job, as far as I am concerned.
The airport is trying to stop the drift to MAN and other airports and a lot of holidaymakers are not aware of what is available from LBA. I know quite a few people who have told me they have flown from MAN, EMA etc and were not aware they could have flown from LBA. Us "golden oldies" don't take easily to change and how many times do you hear them say " we always fly form MAN (for example).
I think that the airport are increasing publicity in the run up to the opening of the terminal extension when there will be even more destinations available.

By 'eck that's a lengthy post for me.

God forbid if we did ever get a LHR link…so embarrassing when high flying London business people arrive here…you never know they might bring some jellied eels, pie and mash and cockles with them!

While it's not a great experience having a delay I don’t understand why Brits think that it somehow entitles them to compensation. Imagine a railway system whereby you are compensated for every delay. Still seven hours is a long deley, what flight is it?

Always moaning never happy. I’ve looked at his posts and seen that he was on the Alicante that was supposed to go at 08:00 but eventually went at 15:30.

There’s been quite a few tech aircraft over the last few days and also 1 that overnighted in Antalya meaning there’s been no spare and that’s been the case today meaning they had to wait till it had done it’s Palma flight which was late as well. I know it’s frustrating from a passengers perspective but there’s not much that can be done apart from waiting for an aircraft to be available.

I remember going to Florida at Christmas & New Year back in 2018 with the kids and grandkids, 12 of us in total…..we flew Premium Economy with Virgin from over the hill….we had a 6 hour delay but the lounge staff told us we had free drinks for 3 hours then after that we had to pay for them…guess what we did 🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷

He has my sympathy. Once past security there is no return. You can't pop out and come back a few hours later! The prices airside are a rip off. So when Jet2 offer him half the cost of a breakfast I can understand why he is disgruntled.
But its no different from other airports in those respects.

My sons girlfriend was supposed to fly to palma 0815 from Manchester today this was delayed til 1215. Due to storms yesterday and slot issues
They had to go round due to weather on approach to palma
Whilst tracking the flight there was one in front en route took off just before her flight and it was yesterday afternoons flight from Manchester to palma ls1759 so that was an overnight delay!

The new terminal regen can't come soon enough.

I'm a massive advocate for LBA, but having been through 8/9 airports this year, LBIA is the worst (apart from Terminal Billi at Bordeaux, but that's just a terminal and not the entire airport)

Dark and uninspiring througout, barely any shops, not enough seats or choice of food/drinks.

But I know the future is bright.

My experience is somewhat tainted too by a guy just spewing in the middle of the floor outside the toilets on the bottom floor near that sports bar thing.

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
