The new terminal regen can't come soon enough.

I'm a massive advocate for LBA, but having been through 8/9 airports this year, LBIA is the worst (apart from Terminal Billi at Bordeaux, but that's just a terminal and not the entire airport)

Dark and uninspiring througout, barely any shops, not enough seats or choice of food/drinks.

But I know the future is bright.

My experience is somewhat tainted too by a guy just spewing in the middle of the floor outside the toilets on the bottom floor near that sports bar thing.
Hewey and Ralph off on another stag do presumably then!!

Think you are being unfair….have you ever been through NQY or EXT, yes its not the best and thats why all that money is being spent on it. I for one like it, can’t beat a spewing golfer, did he shout 4 before he threw up?

To be fair though the Billi Terninal at Bordeaux is dire.

The airport is exceptionally efficient for the number of passengers it processes vs its size, but I do agree it's probably in the worst condition of any airport I've been to
LBA make it known that they know that hence their desire to put that right.

The areas that I recall as particularly bad from my recent travels were the security area which is a tight squeeze and the location is somewhat dark.

The new security area which will be located in the current arrivals area will be larger but I do hope the airport take the opportunity to improve the lighting, or even to try get some natural light into the area.

Post security I didn't find the departure experience too bad up until boarding. The shopping experience was good as was the choice. Thankfully the boarding gates on the ground floor will become part of the arrivals area as that was particularly bad.

The main area of concern is the current arrivals facility. We know this is one of the main reasons for the new extension. Given this is the area considered as the main bottleneck I'm supprised the airport is still yet to release more details of the post REGEN arrivals experience.

Everytime I use the airport the LUFC shop is empty…how on earth does it makes a profit

Have you seen the price of their kit. At that price it won't take many sales to be rolling in money.
And they sold 15,000 if the new yellow away kit in the first 24 hours. They've been in the airport a few years now so they must be making some money. But, it will be interesting to see uif they are still there once the terminal redevelopment is completed. Contracts for retail outlets are still under negotiation but I'll be surprised if they take up residence in the new space.

Covid and dithering polatitions pretty much stopped it. That was the plan here if you remember.

Definitely going ahead, flew past it recently

But then it’s irrelevant to Leeds Bradford

Having endured the grim arrivals hall this afternoon and waiting ages for bags I was disappointed there was nothing in there about the forthcoming improvements. I would have thought it would be a no-brainer to pacify angry customers with the prospect of an improved arrivals experience. Didnt see anything on the way out when we left on Tuesday either.

Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 2nd time
