I very rarely travel nowadays, however when I last did (in 2016) I used the e-gates at Manchester for the first time. The only problem was the instructions said to remove glasses and then I couldn't know see any further visual commands! I took a couple of minutes before I realised that I was to exit the gate.

Of course it's not just CWL that isn't quite ready for this, but you'd have thought the 'smaller' airports would have been able to complete quicker than the bigger ones?

I am of course unfamiliar with the logistics of it all, but it is being shouted from the rooftops at those airports that have already completed the works and been given some good airtime in the last few days: some positive news CWL could have also shouted about... however I dare say it comes down to money.

Regardless, promising progress nonetheless across the board after all these years!

I believe that the challenge Cardiff has faced is the age of the building and I think some reinforcement of the floor had to take place.
 
Another factor would be the surge in demand created by the government deadline is that the manufacturers may struggle to meet demand government is generally not that good at joined up thinking not that the suppliers will mind as it'll do wonders for their profit margins.

It was mentioned that the equipment wasn't arriving until winter in the article.
