Sorry I mist that but in reality do you think there will be room for both brands working side by side. Both WOW Air and Icelandair have struggled to maintain what we would consider to be major routes within the UK.

That came as surprise! Will be interesting to see what happens with them and i wonder if they'll use WOW like AF are using Joon to lower costs on more marginal routes.

Or will Icelandair just loose the Wow name in time, I understand it has had some bad press from customer experience point of view. Perhaps Icelandair won't want to be associated with that.

Both were in financial difficulties, albeit it looks like WOW were more precarious. There is only room for one Icelandic carrier and certainly the `Icelandair` name will continue. Integration will be a problem, initially as WOW are Airbus and the Flag Carrier are firmly Boeing. Restructuring and cutting out unprofitable routes and getting rid of moneypit leases on aircraft will certainly be the order of the day.

I wonder if there will be some sort of partnership with WOW and the other airlines of the group.

Wow Air to downsize fleet and cut routes

Plans will see the carrier’s fleet reduce from 20 to 11 aircraft, with Wow’s A330 aircraft being returned to lessors, and four A321s being sold “in a transaction that will improve Wow Air’s liquidity by more than 10 million USD”.

Wow said that a new flight schedule will be implemented in January, and Business Traveller understand that the carrier’s recently introduced Delhi service will be scrapped, along with flights to Los Angeles.

Obviously Indigo took one look at the books and walked away. Any deal with Icelandair will be concluded by Monday. Maybe the oil companies have sent them an ultimatum?..Looks like they will have to hand everything over and Iceland will use whats useful and bin the rest..Very sad for the people involved who are always the biggest losers....every sad time.

Icelandair have ended talks with Wow and say they have no plans to continue with any further interest. looks pretty bad for Wow.

Feel terribly for the staff....a lot were ex Monarch as well...Good idea but wrong place wrong time
