It’s heartbreaking just thinking about it, lovely tributes on the bases pages where they both flown from I also feel sorry for the person who had to answer the call at operations to explain they wouldn’t be going to work 😔

O’Leary going to be moaning about this, best thing Jet2 did going to Airbus.

Although Airbus are also reported to be delaying deliveries too now despite opening a new production plant in China. Probably unable to meet the demand from airlines wanting to switch.
I've never been convinced it was a good idea to open a production line in China.

They are usually having a spat with the airport authorities or the government when they do this kind of thing. I wonder who's upset them.

Ryanair to sue Channel 4 over fuel allegations

No-frills airline Ryanair plans to sue Channel 4 over a programme that quoted pilots saying they were concerned over the airline's fuel policy.

"Ryanair has instructed its lawyers to issue legal proceedings against Channel 4 Dispatches for defamation," it said.

The programme detailed three incidents in which Ryanair pilots had to call in emergency alerts because they were low on fuel.

"We stand by our journalism," said Channel 4.

Ryanair said that these incidents occurred because of bad weather, but that in each case, the aircraft fully complied with EU regulation.

Full report at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-23686678

I saw the programme but in view of the reported legal proceedings probably the wisest course is to keep any opinion of the issues raised to oneself.
In my opinion, Ryanair has the right to defend itself if they feel their policy was misrepresented. After all, EU fuel regulations are strict, so if they follow the rules, it’s hard to blame them for extreme weather situations.

On the other hand, it’s good that these issues are being raised – passenger safety should always come first.:)

That would be a pain for many.
Agreed as someone who worked on aircraft paper boarding passes make its so much easier, the number of passengers that couldn’t access the boarding pass because of their phones died and don’t have a clue where their seat is then ask the crew if we know (we don’t, we only get told which seats are free and who paid for priority.)

I used my phone on my last flight and it was a nightmare. I thought I'd downloaded the document so I would be able to use it on or offline but then I couldn't find it. Eventually I managed to get online via the airport WiFi which wasn't great and it kept making me login every few minutes.

Back when they launched the seatmap it had all the passengers names so we could help passengers when this happened. I used to allow them to stand in the galley to sort it and help them because management would be at the gate making sure on time performance was being achieved and if it was slow you would receive texts/ messages asking what was taking so long and why the door wasn’t shut before +20 minutes. But some idiot from an base in the UK down in London decided to track a passenger down on social media and message them🤦🏻‍♂️ obviously the crew member was fired with immediate effect

I tend to use both. I use my phone but I have the paper ones printed off as backups just in case.

I print off boarding passes (and book flights) on behalf of many elderly neighbours living on my road - word got around that I was happy to do this! If ANY of those had to rely on a smartphone screen to board the plane, they would never choose that airline again. They will pay extra for the stress-free option. Jet2 already do well on this front; some of my friends prefer them - even at a significantly higher price point - because helpful staff are always on hand to help with the faff of baggage drop and boarding.

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
