Michael O'Leary has said the airline plans to go fully digital with boarding by 2025, starting as early as May. The budget airline is also looking to scrap airport check-in desks. Travel guru Eoghan Corry has sounded the alarm about the impact on passengers this summer. He said: "There is one very big rule change and it's to do with boarding passes. Ryanair said they're not going to take printed boarding passes this summer."
I'm all for technology but what happens for those who's phone charge has run out, or maybe you can't get Wi-Fi, or you're out of data?

Last summer we flew with another airline to Tenerife and we thought we would be tech savvy and download our boarding cards onto our phones. At the UK end it worked fine albeit a somewhat slow process flicking through the different screens to show the barcode required. We had 8 boarding passes on one device. On our return we checked-in and were processed through the security point but from this point we lost our Wi-Fi connection. We struggled to make a purchase at Duty Free and then for some reason we seemed to lose our boarding passes we thought we'd downloaded. Eventually we managed to get onto the free Wi-Fi to re-download our boarding passes once again but it wasn't a very good experience. The idea that you could miss your flight just because of a technicality such as not having your boarding pass handy, even if you have it is worrisome to say the least. Perhaps those who are more frequent travellers won't be phased by this requirement but it's not for everyone.

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
