It is an awful headline that makes it sound like the expansion is at CWL expense despite BFS not operating from Bristol.Great to see the fantastic WalesOnline getting behind supporting Welsh infrastructure and jobs...
And that's the problem, if airlines aren't willing to give people the option of flying from Cardiff most people are going to use Bristol.Yes, most people are willing to travel to BRS; one would say they have to given the choices at CWL - so a dead quote to say the least.
Alicante, Mallorca, Tenerife at least should be no brainers for an airline like Ryanair from Cardiff and don't need a base to operate. Also in the screenshot i don't who has done the response but if the person is high in route development the fact that he doesn't know who the PM of Wales is i suppose should be a concern.I see what you mean, the likes of PMI and ALC would all work very well but they not take the chances, Cardiff is like a gold mine very limited competition, once the new route development manager starts maybe things will change.
When/Why did the old one leave?I see what you mean, the likes of PMI and ALC would all work very well but they not take the chances, Cardiff is like a gold mine very limited competition, once the new route development manager starts maybe things will change.
Without saying to much… a few weeks ago and went to different airline.When/Why did the old one leave?
The article has been updatedAlthough this article is well complete rubbish the comment by the Ryanair person doesn't bode well for any hope of future expansion at Cardiff by Ryanair.
"The number of flights from Cardiff are 50% less than last year, but we have found that most people are willing to travel to Bristol. There is so much going on there and we are happy to be growing our base."
Ryanair grows its business from Bristol and cuts back in Cardiff
Cardiff to Belfast flights that were introduced in the spring will not be running over the winterwww.walesonline.co.uk
Hasn't it been like that for a while though? It looks like Faro is being loaded for next year, however there is only one flight available at the moment on 26 March. It can be booked as a one way. Appears to be an away based aircraft.
Hopefully they'll upload the full schedule asap!It was no there the last time I looked. Maybe they are tinkering around with the timetable.
More than likely something to do with Dragons playing Leinster on Sunday 12th in Newport.I was looking on flight radar today and noticed Ryanair have 2 flights to Dublin on Nov 12. I thought it might be an error, but the CWL website confirms that there’s 2 flights 2 hours apart. on Ryanair’s website one is showing as fully booked. Question is, is there an event on Sunday, or is this a sign that if flights sell out quick enough FR are willing to add extra capacity?
Someone has to pick up PMI given the numbers that route has had in the past. I do wonder why Belfast hasn’t been taken off as an option yet if it’s unlikely to return.Faro still not onsale (not onsale at EXY and NQY either), but i looked back at old posts and it went onsale on the 16th last year so still time, hopefully we'll see it go to 3 weekly. If it remains at 2 weekly then with Dublin and Malaga that would be 11 weekly departures, a loss of 2 weekly departures as i can't see Belfast returning. Still hoping we'll see extra from Ryanair in the way of a Mallorca, Tenerife or Alicante, all 3 would be fantastic but i don't see happening at least not in the short term.
Hopefully though eventually we'll see Ryanair operating on Malaga, Faro, Alicante, Mallorca and Tenerife which are some of the main sun routes.
It can take a while for the Ryanair system to update. Fingers crossed we'll see someone picking up Mallorca for Summer 2024!Someone has to pick up PMI given the numbers that route has had in the past. I do wonder why Belfast hasn’t been taken off as an option yet if it’s unlikely to return.
