I have also seen posts suggesting the car parks are full - son attends ICAT so will ask him - so this is good too.

Ryanair cld develop a tidy little hub. It seems to a slow game but one with progress.

Whilst Cardiff will never be a major airport it could be a decent sensible and reliable choice. I am convinced there is a market for Cardiff, it needs to pick its battlespace and try where possible to launch flights at decent times.

There’s also the perception that it’s more expensive. Usually that’s because someone is comparing a tui flight with an easyJet one. More scheduled routes are a must.

Looks like Ryanair are starting to load winter 2024/25, it's not onsale yet but it looks like we'll see Dublin 4 weekly Sunday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday with better morning and afternoon times. Tenerife will be1 weekly on Fridays. Nothing loaded for Alicante, Malaga or Faro but they could come later on if Ryanair is minded to operate them.

Seems like we’ve got all we have for W24/25 with TFS and DUB - unless they add more at a later date of course.

TFS is also being loaded for S25 in the app and it’s at 1 x weekly Saturday like this year

Plenty more to be added for S25 I’m sure!

Interesting that they've started to load it for Summer 2025!

Tonight’s flight from Alicante was almost full. Only saw a couple of empty seats on my way to the loo. If it doesn’t return this winter I think it will certainly be there next summer.
Good to see that!

Some of summer 25 dates are now bookable.
Still - very unusual for Ryanair to load dates so early. It could be to compete with TUI as they release dates far in advance. If they fill up early then it could become twice weekly.

I can't see them being concerned about TUI. I'd expect that the airline they're competing with and thinking about is Easyjet. Especially where it concerns routes like Tenerife, Alicante and Malaga.

They must also be thinking about their agreements with the on line travel agencies, where some holiday makers especially families like to book their holidays a long way in advance. On the Beach holidays have reported a big increase in bookings since their agreement with Ryanair. I recently tried a booking from CWL to Faro, but it still isn't showing as available on the TUI website.

Very interested to read Severns post on the Ryanair Bristol thread regarding frequencies, specifically to Malaga. They appear to have gone from 8x weekly down to 4x weekly. Easyjet however have increased by 1 weekly flight to 18x weekly.
Read in to that what you will but is that a case of FR are shifting capacity due to CWL being 3x weekly and they are just seeing a transfer of their own passengers and aren't actually making a dent into Easyjets demand?

Alicante remains at 12x weekly. I'm genuinely surprised they're offering so few frequencies to Malaga this summer.
Summer 25 may be interesting for CWL and could go either way.

Very interesting! I know it still early but I’m surprised they’ve not decided to keep one of the other summer routes going through the winter.

The winter routes have turned out to be disappointing, perhaps winter 2025 will be more encouraging, interesting posts above on FR at BRS, perhaps things may be changing in CWL's favour.

I too am surprised they don’t seem interested in doing anymore than TFS (and DUB) in the winter - especially with VY not yet having AGP on sale.

But there’s plenty of time for them to put more on sale for W24/25 if they wanted…

🤞

Bristol goes back up to 8 weekly during winter 24/25 so maybe it’s lack of aircraft availabilty that has caused a dropped in the summer frequency. Similarly cologne was dropped for the summer but returns this winter

The reduction in AGP was quite recent and were flights using AGP based aircraft - so lack of crew or aircraft is certainly possible

Obviously I don’t know the ins and outs of Ryanair’s commercial decisions, but if they have been cut for lack of crew or aircraft then it’s refreshing that CWL didn’t take the hit.

S25 is currently being released on the Ryanair app. 🙌

Quite a few changes at the moment such as TFS changing to Thursday. Saturdays DUB moving to a Tuesday and a shakeup of the Faro route. Changes on AGP and ALC too.

Fingers crossed a full release of dates all in one go means a new route on top of this summer.

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
