Has it got an IATA code yet, and will they make a combined "Leeds Airports" code to cover Leeds East and LBA? :)

Radio Leeds are reporting that the proposed charter flights will not now go ahead next year because an additional licence is required which will not be available in time.

I wouldn't imagine there will be many people out there who thought it would go ahead.

Also in the news last week was plans to build hundreds of new homes on the edge of the airfield. This news doesn't shout "future international airport" for East Leeds Airport?

It’s been announced this evening that Aeros Flight Training are to move their Doncaster operation to Leeds East at the end of October with complete continuity in training. Great to see them staying in the area.

I see there's s flight due from reykjavik tonight. I'm interested to know how that 'works'. Do ATC come out specially to turn the runway lights on etc?Screenshot_20221029-184907_Flightradar24.jpg

24H ops ? 😃
Definitely not an error, the aircraft can be seen currently overlying Glasgow. TAF at Leeds East looks good.

Presumably Customs and Border Force will be in attendance as well.

I am likely to get an opportunity to visit Leeds East and Sherburn sometime in the coming weeks. Anyone have any tips for the best viewing points at both please?

Well over 4 million steps taken this year already. And about 12,500 photos.
The joys of travel. Train from Edinburgh to Leeds is cancelled so having another night in Edinburgh and heading back in the morning!
Tbf Edinburgh isn't a bad city to be stuck in.
A week off work done which resulted in 6 day trips , 50 miles walked and only 2500 photos, Going to work is more of a holiday as I tended to be out of my flat an hour earlies in my week off and back for after 8pm
according to some people, you only need 1 day in each of the Yorkshire Dales, North Wales and Lake District "to have seen it all". Which is why its minibus tour number 3 this year of the Yorkshire Dales for me on 16th October. Different routes and different things to see each tour.
Apologies for any issues today, I was planning on updating the site but sadly something went wrong so the upgrade has been postponed. Apologies again for any inconvenience caused.
