Great afternoon at St. Andrews @Knighthead Park, obviously helped by some glorious sunshine and a vital three points.

Although not the original line-up I thought UB40 were very good. It was nice to see so many stay behind to watch them.

Long long way to go, undoubtedly seeing more twists and turns but there's never a dull moment with this bloomin club :ROFLMAO:

Definitely Joys & Sorrows 😬
I regret not staying now for the concert after hearing so many good reviews

If you look on FR24 right now, a rare Basler BT-67 (C-GEAJ) is passing to the east of Birmingham (and just west of Leicester) at 10,000 feet.

One I've been thinking about this for a discussion more than anything else, and I'm interested to see what people think and this message isn't intended to insult anyone, Believe me, I am making an effort to tread this topic carefully.

The admins and moderators spend their valuable time keeping things in check here on the forum which I know all of us members greatly appreciate and they massively contribute to this forum's success.

I have observed that sometimes messages get moved to different threads that are better fitting, but can then lose the context of the overall conversation they form a part of. This can sometimes make both the original thread and the one the message is moved to a bit harder to read and understand, especially when people are replying to particular messages, or messages remain addressing the point that has been moved.

So, I raise the question, Is it better to let a thread drift slightly so that context remains intact and the forum is easier to read, or is it better to be strict in stopping threads becoming a collection of conversations only semi-related to the topic?

I appreciate this will be done on a fine balance and is decided more than likely on a case-by-case basis, but I'd be really interested in seeing the variance in how people view it. Again I'd like to add this isn't a criticism of the work anyone does here nor what anyone posts here, just a conversation starter.

Messages get moved, to try and keep discussions localised in one (most appropriate) thread. Otherwise, we end up with the same topic being discussed in several different airport forums, which makes a mess of trying to follow what's going on. Much better to have a single discussion in the most appropriate thread. This also helps the forum, by keeping the bandwidth (and therefore, costs) to a minimum.
The big problem, is that many members won't look any further than 'their airport' forum and as such, will post topics that are general to an airline (involving several UK airports), only in 'their airport's' forum (rather than the airlines thread in the Worldwide Airline Forums). This is something that we are trying to move away from, but is proving a huge uphill struggle.
Should you wish to comment on a post, but know that the comment takes the topic way off topic, then it is very easy to use the '+Multi-Quote' feature, to quote from one thread or forum to another. Simply, click on the '+Multi-Quote' feature at the bottom of the massage which you wish to reply to. Then, navigate to the more appropriate thread and select '"Insert Quotes' and in the window that pops up, select '"Quote Messages'. The message will be quoted from the original thread, with a link back to the original message. You can then type in your reply. Believe me, it's much easier to do than to explain.
The forum has many powerful tools, which few members use and few members will venture as far as the 'Ask Us A Question', or 'Site Information' forums to gain info.

Yes, if it's a mild thread drift, over a few posts, it will be allowed to continue and will usually revert to topic after those few post. However, when, a member 'hijacks' a thread by replying with something totally off topic (such as what's due in at 'their airport', in another airport's forum), then we need to look at where that post would be most appropriate.

Having been a Moderator for a couple of years now, I've learned an awful lot, with regard to the forum structure and how members approach it. As a Moderator, I read all of the posts, in all of the forums. I just wish that other members would at least venture outside of 'their airport's' forum and explore Forums4Airports more. They would find a wealth of knowledge and experience that would enhance their experience.
All of the Moderators (myself included), give our time for free. It can, at times be hard work (another story altogether), so please help us by understanding that we are trying to keep the forum as concise and easily navigable as possible, and avoiding repetitive posts on multiple threads. And, please choose the most appropriate thread for your message.

I think this is probably the crux of it. Speaking for myself only and being perfectly honest I only really use F4A for information regarding BHX as it's on my doorstep and is accessible to me, so what happens at other airports for the most part doesn't concern me and I'll very rarely visit other parts of the forum. I should pay more attention to the Worldwide Airline forums for the reasons you've explained

Again I'd like to emphasise how much I everyone else appreciate your time and efforts in keeping this forum tidy and everything in the right place. I certainly don't envy you when people start throwing their toys out of the pram on the classic "The Airport I Like Is Better Than Yours" debate

Thanks for taking the time to reply, I appreciate it

New 'sports quarter' to be built on the old 43 acre wheels site, a £2-3 billion investment 😳

Stadium to be around 60,000, along with training and academy facilities, with hotel, leisure, entertainment, conferencing etc.

My immediate concern is transport to and from this area. The last time I left a full St. Andrews (less than half of that capacity) it took me nearly 2 hours to do a 20 min journey. I now park in the city centre and walk. Hopefully we'll see the Metro routed through the site along with an upgrade to Adderley Park and hopefully another new station somewhere.

Obviously as a long suffering Bluenose I'm so used to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory my first instinct is I'll believe it when I see it. These guys seem serious though.

We just have to perform a miracle now and not get relegated 😬

It would be particularly amazing if Adderley Park does not get a heavy upgrade potentially linked directly to the stadium (e.g. underneath a concourse/stand). But the costs of doing that will probably be eye watering given its the busiest (and most profitable) route in the country pre-HS2.

At the very least, it will certainly need an upgrade including of the route from station to stadium.

Hi everyone and happy Friday.
I’m going to the moors tomorrow and I’m wanting to know if the Public Pathway is open by the mound .
Could someone find out for me please?

Feel so sad for the Mighty Moors. Twice in three seasons come so close. Their time will come, though.

Plus the FA Trophy final next weekend.

As for the Blues, the best fans in the world did not deserve that season and that outcome. But looks what happened the shortly after last time they were in the third tier. This could turn out to be the right thing.

And hoping that the Villa get into the Champions League and the Baggies win the play offs.

focus on the cycling now.

Blues have appointed Chris Davies as men's first team manager.

Unproven in the hot seat but very highly rated and it seems as if he wasn't short of offers. Lots of experience as a number two and is known for developing young talent, one department where Blues seem to excel.

He's young at 39 and seems hungry to prove himself. Really excited to see what he can do.

Welcome Chris :)

Have a question.Preferably towards whose known to the airport or knows someone from the airport.

Has Tom Wagner ,Tom Brady or Gary Cook ever met Nick Barton or Tom screen even if to negotiate a deal for flights to and from the uk

The only reason they would possibly want to meet BHX representatives would be for sponsorship, but with the current negative press on BHX they wouldn't touch them with a barge pole, that's without BHX being tight penny pinchers so would want maximum exposure for minimum ££££ that wouldn't interest blues anyway.

When TW first took over and they released a couple of pre-recorded videos from his NY office, I noticed he had a number of diecast aircraft models on his desk and window ledges. It made me think he was into aviation, and maybe has some contacts within United/Jetblue/American or Delta.

He has obviously seen the potential of the Midlands region and every opportunity he gets he says his interest is not just Blues but the Midlands as a whole. You only have to look at the Wheels Park plans and Blues will be the focal point of that, but in terms of usage and revenue generation, a relatively small part of it.

If i was Barton or Tom Screen, I would be getting in touch with him to see if he has any airline contacts and whether he could help in selling a NY to BHX service to airlines. If he can see the potential of the area, a respected and well known US business man, I am sure US airlines would take more notice of him, than the BHX route development team.

Maybe they have got in touch with him, but if they haven't I think they are missing an opportunity

Tom Wagner has regularly flown into BHX on a privatley owned Gulfstream GLF4 from Teterboro NY. Personally I can't see any particular reason why BHX and Blues would have any reason to talk to each other than a footballing sponsorship deal although both organisations have other rather urgent issues to address at present or to put it bluntly their both up a creek without a paddle.

I do not wish to intrude upon local trauma, as a Manchester United supporter and member of the club, having ownership outwith the Kingdom is not something to celebrate. The Glazers, with undoubted wealth, have sucked the life of our club, is Birmingham City immune from a similar outcome ? Having a celebrity on the board is nothing, a proven person of integrity is worth more than a stellar bank balance.

according to some people, you only need 1 day in each of the Yorkshire Dales, North Wales and Lake District "to have seen it all". Which is why its minibus tour number 3 this year of the Yorkshire Dales for me on 16th October. Different routes and different things to see each tour.
Apologies for any issues today, I was planning on updating the site but sadly something went wrong so the upgrade has been postponed. Apologies again for any inconvenience caused.

Thank you for your kind donation to our running costs Jenny.
I've done 2 minibus tours with Mountain Goat this week. Monday was North York Moors with over 600 photos and today High Adventure in the Lakes with 750. photos. Slightly snap happy.
I've asked Gareth Southgate for the winning lottery numbers. He said 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6
