Wow…. And here was I thinking this forum was about aviation, when it’s now clearly a place for cringeworthy humour and casual racism
Utter nonsense markietgAs for your comment on the above image, I believe the image related to the original content on the forum, which had no racist undertones. Had the discussion been relating to migration then I would uphold your complaint, as the forum will not tolerate racist behaviour. I don't believe on this occasion this was the intension of the poster who I believe posted it in good faith.
Utter nonsense markietg
So that means We By Any Car advert is casual racism and Tesco's ‘We got the power’ advert is…why, just because the actors are not White. Never heard so much rubbish.
Everyone has had their chance to air their views, so no more on the matter now or I'll have to close the thread. (The only thread on The Leeds forum where you can tell puns freely!)I think we need to refer to start referring to some people on here as "the group that shall not be amused"
@Aviador fully appreciate that everyone has a right to their view/opinion but there are clearly some very strong views around the tempering of humour, including any PMs I have received on the subject.Everyone has had their chance to air their views, so no more on the matter now or I'll have to close the thread. The problem with your request is you are deciding what "in moderation" is. I have already made it clear. The odd pun is fine. Anything more taking a thread off topic amounts to spam.Perhaps it's time for you to set up a poll to gauge more members overall opinions then it is a lot clearer on where the majority perhaps want the boundaries drawing, so possible poll choices being:
Any amount of humour is good
Humour in moderation is best
Keep it dead serious please
My wife couldn't have put it any better..If I might be permitted an observation....Humour is the one thing we British have been noted for over many years. It comes in varying forms but mainly it is us laughing at ourselves. What we have here is a community, made up of different people. WE have thanks to this forum become friends. Many actually never meet but are friends all the same. Often that interaction is aviation/airport related but when its quiet people simply chat. That serves to maintain and deepen friendships.
What a dull world if we only wanted to talk about Boeing v Airbus, LBA v A Another or routes past and present. People are individuals made up of very different parts and outlooks. Let us celebrate the good, join in being friends and just ignore or scroll past what you don`t like..
But above all lets start again.....lets be friends and move on...Best wishes to everyone
I know what you mean, its getting daft now, anyway heres an aviation one just for you.I question the very existence of a "Random" thread. This is supposedly an aviation forum. This excess of non aviation waffle does not appear to afflict other UK airport forums. I'm becoming quite irritated with the incessant irrelevant waffle on the LBA forum. The fact that there has been very little development news worthy of note at LBA in recent months (LBARegen aside) is no justification for non LBA waffle in my opinion. Rant over.
