CAA stats December 2021

Published today and show that 4,825 passengers used NQY in the month, up 458.4% on December 2020. Atms were up 415.4%. Rolling 12-month total was 105,479 up 55.4% on a year ago. This is also the total for the calendar year of 2021 and is 22.9% of the total for the calendar year of 2019, the last pre-pandemic calendar year.

Data from the CAA website, using tables 3, 9, 12.1, 12.3 & 13

Note: according to table2 12.1 & 12.2 in December 2020 the total passenger numbers were 1,010 as against the numbers in table 9 which therefore gives an increase of 377.72%. As @TheLocalYokel and I well know, there is often a remarkable disparity within the CAA's various data files.

I wonder if this is the year NQY starts to push on again? Pre pandemic and when Flybe was the monopoly, it really felt like it was on the up.
for me, I’d really like to see private ownership of the airport and some serious marketing of its usage both internal and for the masses of foreign travellers. Germany is a really untapped market for the summer as is France and some of the Scandinavian countries.. great to have Dublin back but both Shannon and cork I’m sure would do well…
I live in hope and would love to use it more other then the fairly regular Alicante and Gatwick flights (which btw are a bit of a rip off with eastern… no competition unfortunately)
