Now showing on FR24 In maintenance at DXB

I’ve noticed every day since Monday EK39 has been delayed by an 1hr and 20mins.interesting if it’s a passenger issue or an aircraft issue.Been the same aircraft since Monday aswell
I recently travelled back from Mauritius on A6-EVB. Both daily EK A380 flights went bang on time every day from MRU....(thanks flight radar). I wondered how the airport could manage this day in and day out. On my day of departure back to Dubai, boarding began one hour before departure time and doors closed ten to fifteen minutes before departure time of 23.00hrs. Boarding was very efficient with strict zoning in place as well as upstairs queuing separately from downstairs. Mauritius airport has on time departures down to a T. Today could be a problem as a tropical cyclone is charging thru the island. Don't think they'll be any on time departures today 😕

Something to do with Dubai, most likley a shortage in ground crew

Todays A388 due in at 11:40 currently just north of London actual arrival given at11:51 so back to normal, maybe last couple of days just a anomaly for some reason.

When a 3 class machine is used do they upgrade some pax or just not use the 1st class seats

Emirates's A380 615 seater update (15 aircraft):-

Aircraft In Service :- (11) .... A6-EOP, A6-EOR, A6-EOX, A6-EOY, A6-EUN, A6-EUO, A6-EUP, A6-EUX, A6-EUY, A6-EVA, A6-EVB

Aircraft To Enter Service in next week: - (1) .... A6-EOS (test flight took place yesterday from DXB)

Aircraft In Maintenance:- (2) .... A6-EOQ (at DXB), A6-EUQ (at CAN)

Aircraft Stored:- (1) .... A6-EUZ (stored DWC since 22/03/20)

with the possibility of 14 out of 15 aircraft maybe servicable soon, what are the chances of EK37/38 being upgraded? - Or are Emirates now happy to permanently keep the B777 on the evening service?

EUQ is gone for a quick spray job at the front section, EOQ maintenance has started since 20th March, should be done within 18 may if everything is done properly. EUZ shall make its entry soon. I don’t have official confirmation into on 37 and 38s evening A380, but it will happen. My expectations suggest a 2025 March or July restart

I hope not! I much prefer having the 777 available for freight. An example is a recent shipment of just under 9000 Kgs which moved in one hit on the 038. This would not have been possible with a 380 on the route especially if the flight was full (bags for 615 passengers have got to go somewhere). As a passenger option the 380 wins hands down but for cargo the 777 has to be the preferred option. I know this is probably one of the least favoured opinions on this forum but the 777 gives Forwarding Agents so many more options compared to the 380.

Maybe twice daily 380 for pax and a regular 777F service, BHX has proved it can handle it both sides of 33/15

We can all be dreamers, maybe one day🤣

CL44 were the 777F flights available for your use also, or were they privately chartered?

These flights were open for general sale (as they would have been if they operated out of LHR).

The problem is with only 2 x 77F flights per week there are shipments which cannot wait for either a Thursday or Saturday. There are also times when a shipment does not require a freighter as the goods would fit lower deck on a passenger flight (as was the case quoted). The mix of 380 & 777 flights have shown that they work from BHX covering both passengers and cargo. As I have said previously I understand that without the passengers we would not have the availability of the flights for cargo. My shipments do not care what type of aircraft is used (it does not have to be shiny or new and certainly does not need IFE or a fantastic menu). What I need for my Clients is a regular service which is reliable and can accommodate shipments which could be for anywhere around the world. The 777 offers this (as well as the other aircraft EK have on order) it is just the 380 which struggles to offer a similar capacity for cargo. As I have mentioned the passenger baggage has to go somewhere which means cargo takes a hit capacity wise. I have no other issues with the 380, I am sure it is a fantastic experience for passengers (never flown on one so cannot comment with authority on that point) but for business purposes for me it is not the best aircraft type.

fine i’ll compromise, 2x 777F per week, 1x daily 777 on the morning service we used to have and 2x 380 on lunch and evening service🤣🤣

A fair argument from a cargo perspective on the 777, especially in terms of frequency, I doubt BHX has the throughput to sustain any 777F at a higher frequency than twice weekly (i know its planned to move away from BHX but from what we've seen in its current operating pattern) having both types every day is better from a spotters perspective also, atleast imo.

As much as a daily 777F or a 777 is wanted, BHX will have the same fate as MAN/ LGW with their EK21/22 and EK11/12. A aircraft change depending on demand. So we may see a mix but as of now no info however I can confirm the 777F operations are here till the end of this current month

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
