This whole situation is getting out of control with the far right stiring trouble because of the very very sad murder in Southport
 
  • Q2 pointseasyJet passengers increased by 10% for the year. They had 7 aircraft based at the airport and announced 8 new destinations for Winter and Summer 2025.
  • Summer 2025, it is anticipated that Ryanair will continue to operate five based aircraft but will deliver non-based growth of around 10%.
  • Jet2 carried 186,000 passengers in its first three months trading at the Airport and announced 3 new routes for the winter season.
  • Wizzair continue with their 6 routes.
  • Aer Lingus increased traffic by 93% on last year.
  • Loganair were 4% down on last year after ceasing the flight to Derry.
  • Sun Express, has been confirmed for Summer 2025, operating a three times weekly service to Antalya in Turkey.
Q3 points:
  • easyJet passengers increased by 3% with occupancy rates higher than the prior year but still not reaching levels seen before COVID. easyJet operated a fleet of seven based aircraft, operating to 24 destinations including domestic flights to Belfast, Isle of Man and Jersey. easyJet has announced 8 new routes for the Winter season, which are selling well and showing positive signs. Full visibility on the Summer 2025 schedule is not yet available with a number of route options being discussed.
  • Ryanair passenger numbers increased by 12% during Q3, which was driven by the previously mentioned fifth based aircraft entering the fleet. The airline operated to 32 destinations with occupancy rates slightly behind prior year. Ryanair has announced a new route to Marrakesh will commence from late October, which will compete with easyJet. Looking ahead to Summer 2025, it is anticipated that Ryanair will continue to operate five based aircraft, but will deliver non-based growth of around 10%.
  • Jet2.com carried 235k passengers during Q3 at Liverpool, during its first full 3 months with occupancy rates at an impressive 90%. The carrier will add a fifth based aircraft to its Liverpool operation from Summer 2025, which will see new routes to Malaga, Reus and Malta, whilst a further new route will commence to Vienna for Winter 2025/2026.
  • Wizz Air carried over 86,924 passengers operating to 6 routes, Gdansk, Warsaw, Budapest, Katowice, Iasi and Bucharest, which was 1% behind prior year. Routes to Cluj and Varna were discontinued during 2023 which led to the negative passenger variance despite strong levels of growth on its route to Warsaw.
  • Aer Lingus delivered over 15,000 passengers during Q3 which was an 18% rise on the prior year. The airline is connecting approximately 10% of all passengers to its connections to North America.
  • Loganair passenger numbers were 4% down on the prior year quarter owing to the discontinuation of service to Derry (a route to be picked up by easyJet). Service to the Isle of Man delivered over 13,000 passengers for the period.
  • Sun Express, has been confirmed for Summer 2025, operating a three times weekly service to Antalya in Turkey.

Work will begin this winter on the toilets in the check in hall. Didn't seem that long ago when new ones went in, but they need replacing now.
 
You can see a plaque commemorating the comstruction of the new terminal by John Prescot in 2001 across from the check in desks. John Prescot passed away on 20 November 2024 this week.

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.

The joys of travel. Train from Edinburgh to Leeds is cancelled so having another night in Edinburgh and heading back in the morning!
Tbf Edinburgh isn't a bad city to be stuck in.
A week off work done which resulted in 6 day trips , 50 miles walked and only 2500 photos, Going to work is more of a holiday as I tended to be out of my flat an hour earlies in my week off and back for after 8pm
