LPL is doing all right in terms of passenger aircraft movements compared with some peer group airports. Better than Bristol which only seems to have a daily maximum of five departures (and five arrivals) with some days none at all.

Ive noticed there are 2 Alicante arrivals today and 1 Malaga, plus a couple of Eastern European arrivals. So its better than nothing. I do wonder who is going to Spain presently ?!

A bit of a flurry today, things slowly improving, hoping no rebounds, the country appears on a good trajectory at present.

I know some airports had made assistant ATC controllers redundant. Hopefully this is a good sign for the months to come.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport has worked to created a COVID-secure environment

Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) has secured international recognition for creating a COVID-secure environment for passengers and staff.
Having worked closely with the UK Civil Aviation Authority and Public Health England, LJLA is one of only a handful of UK airports to have implemented the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) guidance for air travel through the COVID-19 pandemic.
In order to receive this ICAO recognition, the airport needed to pass a detailed and thorough review of all its procedures, providing evidence on 77 specific required measures covering all aspects of the airport journey from social distancing, toilets and touchpoints to security processes and exiting the building in a covid safe manner.

The team at the airport also undertook desktop reviews, evidencing measures in place through assessments, procedures and schedules as well as an onsite audit taking place by a team of auditors and specialist doctors.
Paul Staples, LJLA’s operations director, said: “Colleagues across the airport have worked hard throughout the pandemic to provide our passengers and those working at the airport with as much protection as we can against the spread of COVID-19.
“We have continued to develop the measures we have in place and to receive the recognition that these are now implemented in line with the latest international ICAO guidance gives passengers a further reassurance that their journey through the airport is as COVID-secure as it can be.”

Out of interest, do you have insurance to cover cancelation costs in the event of a covid positive result?

We had a trip to Tenerife cancelled by the airline and fully refunded but we also paid for covid cover insurance in addition to our usual insurance.

I'd be interested to know if anyone has had to use this type of insurance.

That's all done, will know within 24hrs  £200 quid lighter too.
The prices are ridiculous. A lot of these tests actually costs more than the flight! Another way for the government to get more money I see and make travel more hassle than it needs to be.How I see it is that you have to pay hundred of pounds just to enter the country you were born in!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

It is ridiculous especially when there is an NHS test centre next to the private lab, with no cost for a PCR and they were very quiet. I wouldn't be surprised to hear a government minister has shares in the companies doing all the private pcr tests you are obliged to have.

You could well be right there. I`m told, very reliabily, that the actual cost to these labs is under £15 to produce the result. The rest is profit. Suddenly the antigen test is not acceptable to come back home..Hmm makes you think does it not..

Yes it really does. Too many crooked deals during this pandemic , nothing would surprise me !

Reading the latest Government requirements coming back from Amber and double jabbed..It seems they are now saying what the standards need to be and its your responsibility to ensure that it does and can be an antigen test..No mention, that I can find of PCR only test that was announced last week. I`ve honestly given up flying. Its not worth it. This lot arn`t fit enough to run a dog show let alone a Government.
