I thought we already had a thread for this airline but a check reveals we haven't.

There were some media reports this week about a 38-hour delay on a holiday flight to Corfu involving a Small Planet aircraft at Manchester. See this linked report.

Whilst it may well have no connection with this delay a comment from a firm of solicitors took my eye in which it was said that Small Planet had a history of not paying compensation claims. The firm's spokesman said, "We've invited them to settle claims, we've issued court proceedings, we've even had courts order them to make payments and unfortunately they're ignoring those court orders and they're still not making payments,"

The solicitors therefore waited until a Small Planet aircraft was on the ground at a UK airport and then took action.

The spokesman explained, "So when the plane landed on the runway, the officer of the court was there waiting for it and took ownership of the aircraft and so they paid their debts... they had no option."

I don't know whether other airlines are difficult to pin down when court judgements are made against them.

There's a TV program (think its on the BBC) about High Court sheriff/enforcement officers wonder if it'll end up on that? They must have owned the aircraft because I believe if they aren't the registered owner (it's leased) then they can't seize it.

Thw airline could of course delay compensation claims up to the point of Brexit then I guess the European law probably won't be worth the paper it's written on?

If its interwoven with a British Act of Parliament like many EU rules laws and directives are then it would still count after Brexit.

I have just been on the Small Planet website and they have gone into the "Polish form of restructuring". The Polish (P7) base is still operating but at reduced frequency ie flights for Tour Operators. Germany (5P), Lithuania (S5) and Cambodia (LKH) airlines are operating as normal.
