AeroItalia announces Milan Bergamo to Southend, the route will operate x6 weekly on Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri and Sun, timings as per below:
Milan 0900-0945 Southend
Southend 1045-1330 Milan
This is the 1st of 3 rumored new routes in partnership with the airline, with Rome and Sicily (Comiso or Catania) also believed to be on the cards.
25th of March 2024When does it start?
Yes, Milan has previously done well with both EasyJet and Ryanair historically, but AeroItalia are charging 80 EUR one-way and therefore I really can't see this being successful unfortunately.Bit of a curveball route this!
It'll be interesting to see if it's successful. One of the challenges they'll face is lack of recognition airline wise compared to the likes of Easyjet.25th of March 2024

Now if that was to go ahead that would be a gamble. Will be interesting to see if they can get it off the ground. Good luck to them, more routes are always welcome after the last 4 years. It’s an interesting one, the lack of recognition could cause issue, however SEN is blessed with being on a railway line very close to the City of London and therefore does have a large market almost on its doorstep.
It is undoubtably a shame with what’s happened at SEN in recent years, do any growth attempts no matter how left field should be supported. It’s certainly in a far better position than its contemporaries like HUY, MME etc purely owing to the access to such a large market.
Conversely, it looks like Lakeland airways (or whatever they are calling themselves now) intend to start up a number of services, the first being an SEN-MME route. Not a clue how they think that will work, presumably the TVCA Mayor will be helping with his offer of a chunk of his bottomless pit of cash to help get it going,
Nope. There was always Jersey flights from SEN , anyone offering this for the summer ?
Currently no, but I do believe this route will be on the departure board at SEN for Summer 2024.There was always Jersey flights from SEN , anyone offering this for the summer ?
