Just to summarise, this forum is for Destinations Reviews only.

Airline Review - a report on a specific airline trip e.g. 'Trip Report: AA MAN-PHL'; a report on an airline's services e.g. onboard IFE, seating, service etc.

You can find the above in the passenger parent forum.

Destination Review - recommendations/comments on a particular destination. Titles should be the destination you are referring to.

British tourist moans her Benidorm holiday was ruined by 'too many Spanish people'

© Lancashire Telegraph - Freda Jackson, 81, said that Spanish people should go somewhere else for their holidays A British woman has claimed her holiday to Benidorm was ruined because her hotel had 'too many Spaniards in it'

Freda Jackson, 81, said that Spanish people should go somewhere else for their holidays and she cried at the end of her two-week trip.

The pensioner, who suffers from mobility issues, says her accommodation was teeming with 'rude' native Spaniards - who nearly knocked her over on one occasion.

Retired care assistant Freda said: "The hotel was full of Spanish holidaymakers and they really got on our nerves because they were just so rude.

"One evening a Spanish guy nearly knocked me flying and he just walked off without even apologising.

"The entertainment in the hotel was all focused and catered for the Spanish - why can't the Spanish go somewhere else for their holidays?"

It's hard to believe there are actually real people around like this. She is incredibly stupid. Seriously, why didn't she just go to Blackpool for her summer holiday.

What an absolute plonker. I hope she doesn't try to claim compensation !!
Apparently she has, Thomas Cook sent her an offer of i think £500 to split between her and her friend but she hasn't excepted it yet.

Please tell me that's not true, we frequently go to Gran Canaria and at weekends the locals disgracefully take their kids to the beach and actually speak in some sort of foreign lingo, how bad is that?

I don't know why we keep going back, next visit six weeks away.

Thomas Cook bosses initially offered Freda and her friend a £75 holiday voucher as compensation for the 'disappointing' trip abroad.

But after declining the initial 'goodwill gesture' made by the travel company, they made an improved offer of £566 to be split between Freda and her friend.

It's disgusting. There are plenty of people out there who rightfully deserve compensation but definitely not this woman.

You ought to book a Thomas Cook holiday to somewhere in England, Jerry, then complain that the place is full of English people. It could be a nice little earner for you now that Thomas Cook has set a precedent.
I have a feeling they would laugh at me if i did that! Maybe i should book my next trip to Oregon with them and then complain it's full of Americans!:LOL:

Regardless of how ridiculous this persons claims are why the hell are Thomas Cook offering her compensation???

What kind of message does it send out?

On our last day in Ibiza we had a massive thunderstorm with rain like I had never seen before. It ended up turning the hotel corridor into a small river and our apartment into a small lake, with my little boy slipping over and bruising his knee. I could quite easily have thrown some of our personal belongings into the water, sent Jet2 videos of my little ones knee and the water in the room and kicked up a real fuss about ruined clothing. No doubt there would have been some sort of compensation offered.

The reality was that although the storm only lasted 90 mins or so, that amount of rain in such a short period of time seemed to have been unprecedented, with many locals saying they hadn't seen anything like it in decades. We made the hotel aware of our flood and within minutes there was a team of five cleaners in the room, fifteen mins later it was as good as new. My lad slipped on the floor because he was being disobedient and ignoring our requests to stay in the dry area, it was his own bloomin fault.

I don't think people realise that the tour companies, airlines and hotels will not lose out and as compensation claims rise so will the cost of flights and holidays to offset that. In the long run these mickey mouse claims will end up costing people more.

If there has been genuine negligence and people have suffered real hardship then compensation is quite rightly due but this kind of thing really seems to have gotten out of hand!
