Looks like we are going to have to wait before we see the long awaited 737/800 G-DRTI at Leeds. The aircraft is currently on final approach to Manchester following an Air Test after being painted at East Midlands. And suddenly all those patches become invisible :)

Not sure if this is normal, but tried to book flights through Jet2 App , logging into my Jet2 and no preferential discounts showing. Tried the Jet 2 website and , using same log in etc, winter flights discounted by 15%.through code.
Makes big difference to school holiday flights.

This is a great start at plugging the gap in what has been a turbulent time. It would be great to see Jet2 introduce a couple of pathfinder routes from LBA as they did in previous years but despite having other large bases this still demonstrates very strong commitment to LBA. Its clear that behind the scenes despite the lack of new carriers management must be working very hard just to stand still!

It would be great to see them resume DUS and SXF but I guess this seems unlikely!

No brainer really...read today now TC has gone Cape Verde is virtually unserved from the UK...... got to be worth a couple of flights a week to see how it goes.
TUI operate plenty of flights to Cape Verde from the UK

I haven't had chance to do the maths (which is unusual for me) but I'm assuming this is an extra based unit in which case there may be more to come as it's not fully utilised from those additions?

TUI operates year-round from both Boa Vista and Sal to LGW, MAN and BHX and year-round from Sal to BRS.

I would say there's room for Jet2 for 2-3 flights a week....LBA would be nice.

Limited market, I think it's a nightstop for the crew's as well so I'd be surprised if Jet2 went near it especially as they'd be up against TUI with a Dreamliner a lot of the time. They could make more money adding extra flights to Spain and Turkey.

Partner and I flew to Barcelona and back with Jet2 over the weekend - thankfully departed back to Leeds before the Catalan separatists tried to occupy the airport on Monday afternoon! Flight was on time both ways and we had the usual high quality of service from Jet2. Came off the plane via the airbridge and we were through passport control and out of the airport in no time at all.

One curious thing - as we were about to disembark via the door at the front of the plane (a 737-800), the air steward asked us to hold on for a moment as he was looking down to the rear of the plane (where passengers were leaving via the steps) and said something to the effect that "this type of aircraft can get a little tail-heavy". I've never come across this before - was there really a risk of too many passengers at the back of the plane making it tip up?! (And if so, how come they board the plane by boarding groups starting from the back...?)

Normally it’s only the 757’s where the front passengers are held back to prevent a tail tip.
Yeah this happened to me on my flight from majorca a few weeks ago. They held back the first 11 rows and let everyone else off first, we were on G-LSAB.
