If they are increasing the frequency of the route they must be happy with it and confident they can fill the 3rd flight!

Good on them, they must have done plenty if research before launching the route, but regardless it nice that its turned out well for them so far and are confident to add a 3rd rotation.

Passenger numbers this year from the CAA statistics: 276, 754, 783, 984, 557. The biggest month (April)) would appear to be averaging 54 passengers per flight which on a DHC8 is 71% loads.

From Sunday 10 November, Widerøe is increasing the number of departures between Bergen and Liverpool from two to three a week. The new Sunday flight has been specially added for football fans, and will provide more good travel options between Bergen and Liverpool.

Fans from Bergen will now have even more travel options for weekend matches during the football season. In addition, Liverpool is a good destination for reaching other football cities, with Manchester just a short train ride away, for example.

Passengers from Liverpool will enjoy excellent connections to and from Widerøe’s route network in Norway – for instance they can experience the fjords and the north with connections to Bodø and Tromsø. Widerøe already operates 18 direct routes from Bergen, and airline partners enable connections to a wide range of exciting destinations both in Norway and internationally.

“I’m delighted that one year after opening the Liverpool–Bergen route we’re now adding a further flight. As a self-confessed Liverpool supporter, however, people have wondered whether there are other reasons for putting the extra flight in here rather than anywhere else. I obviously understand why they ask, but we’re essentially increasing flights between Bergen and Liverpool because we have great faith in the route. This not only applies to passengers from Norway to Liverpool, but also because we believe that Merseysiders will want to discover Bergen and Norway as travel destinations"

Wideroe seem to be using a mainly the E190 jet and sometimes a DHC-8 ( including today) maybe depending on popularity of particular weekends. The third flights stars in November.

Liverpool playing away this weekend?
Liverpool played at Sheffield United at lunchtime and Everton are currently playing at home to Manchester City.

Extra flight today Stavanger to Liverpool WF 7476 due in at 13.00. Bergen service just arrived at 11.34.
