I think BHX would be better pursuing easyJet in my opinion than Wizz Air. I'm very half glass empty sort of guy when it comes to the purple. Yes they are expanding etc and it's good news, but wonder if the bubble will pop? Remember everyone shared same optimism around Norwegian 3/4/5 years ago. Now look at them.

I think Wizz Air have demonstrated their ability to take-on Ryanair and other airlines. MOL placed "BYE BYE...." #JustAboutEveryAirline on the back of his aircraft but Wizz and EasyJet are still going all these years on. The next twelve months will inevitably be a challenging time for all airlines but the industry will recover.

Great piece of work just one slight mistake you have BUD as top two destinations from LTN

Wizz Air UK fleet - Fri 2nd July 2021
The Wizz Air UK fleet currently stands at 14x aircraft - A320 (3), A321 (7), A21N (4)

Some of the UK fleet are currently being used in Europe to help out sister company Wizz Air.
Currently no aircraft are based/stored at the new bases of LGW and CWL.

Operating:

Interesting interview with Wizz Air's UK managing director.

She speaks of 'opportunity in the UK regions'. The airline has an ambition to grow by 20% each year and to grow in the UK by 20%.

Wizz is looking to operate over 500 aircraft by the end of the decade. But for the pandemic they would have more bases by now.

Recruiting pilots doesn't seem to be a problem. Cabin staff recruitment is more of a challenge as 'it’s difficult to convince people to apply to join an industry that has suffered so much'.

For all the optimism I found this comment from the MD slightly at odds: 'We would like to grow at Gatwick, but we’re constrained. You can get access to certain slots, but there is no certainty you can retain them. We need slots, but we also need to be convinced we can build a sustainable operation around the slots we have.'
