A nasty accident in Turkey this afternoon at Istanbul's Sabiha Gokcen International Airport. It is reported that a Pegasus Airlines Boeing 737-800 aircraft had a tail strike on landing during heavy rail leading to the aircraft leaving the paved area and breaking up. There are no reports of any fatalities.

Sound familiar? Back in 2018 a Pegasus Airlines was involved in a similar incident at a different airport when an aircraft left the runway shortly after landing and ended up down a cliff. There were no fatalities.

Further to my last post and a correction. The aircraft involved landed late. The aircraft isnt reported to have had a tail strike as I reported in my earlier post.

Yes having seen the landing video it was still going at quite some speed when it went over the edge
