Is there any technical plans, images of fully completed T2 and reconfig of T1/T3
Also an approximation of the shopping floor in renovated T2; existing T2X is on the left. My red arrow is coming up from the second security check, green arrow is going down to the legacy gates:

You can see where new dual taxiway will run between Pier B and C, currently marked as disused!

According to the NOTAM, this specific area of works is due to be completed by 20th December.

Hoped it would allow for 2 large aircraft to pass side by side! All the remote stands will evaporate! Bring down those cargo sheds!!!

This section of taxiway is where Zulu begins and either side you have Zulu Orange and Blue.
The Zulu remote stands as well as the Pier 1 stands on that side leading from these taxiways are narrowbody only (apart from stand 113 I think as I have seen a TUI 787 on this stand in the past).
The new dual taxiway past the cargo sheds will be capable of two widebody's passing each other and then further down past thew ATC tower.

Can I ask though. What will airport do, following loss of all remote stands with new dual taxiway next to cargo sheds? Few left!! I'm guessing use mostly vacant stands on Pier C??

I don't know how many remote stands will be lost due to the new dual taxiway, however, by then Pier 2 will be operationally which means 13 new stands.
Overnight I assume all 13 stands will be in use by narrowbody aircraft and then during the first wave of departures, some of these stands will be occupied by widebody aircraft too.

Overall I don't think there is going to be a surplus of new stands, maybe an increase of 1 or 2. But there will be an increase IF and WHEN the proposed new remote stands are built. Again, this is reliant on the new dual taxiway being completed and I can only assume justification within the budget, but I would be surprised if it doesn't happen.

Where will cargo flights park though in future? Are the cargo sheds even used anymore? Would make sense to start the demolition of them to allow for new remote stands

There are huge ammounts of cargo but most come underbelly on pax flights
Sure, so are the cargo sheds still in full use? What about cargo only flights wide bodies. Think would only be 2 remote stands left for these!?

Can anyone provide some clarity as to the internal layout of the existing t2 departure lounge. From MAGs latest update progress has been made in installing the new escalators that will take passengers from the the security hall to level 30 duty free and onwards through the ‘boulevard’ to the existing T2 departure lounge (near the media wall). It looks like a ceiling is being installed above level 30 (thus blocking off the existing glass roof). I was under the impression that the original plan was for passengers to exit the new duty free, straight into the glass roof boulevard? Had an additional level been added above this now? It would be a shame to create a low ceiling and block out all the natural light from the glass roof.

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
