Are ALL airlines moving to T2 except Ryan and Easyjet? If props moving, which stands will they use? Can't see them moving over tbh. So wish they went with original T2 phase 2 expansion. Still could have had dual taxiway system, with loads more stands, wasted so many remote stands with his transformation project. No wide body remote stands left soon!!

Props @ MAN =

Loganair / Aurigny / Emerald EI / Emerald UK / Luxair

As far as I know, the plan is for all of these to switch to T2.

Very fluid situation at the moment, there will be an announcement mid-January ish regarding the next airline moves. Expecting BA/GR/EI/AY/FI/SK to be among the next set to move across.

Following that, GF/EY/EK will move over in late May 25. This is of course subject to the new pier opening as scheduled. EK will have a lounge within the new pier with direct boarding access.

What are opening dates for:
1. Dual taxiway
2. Pier 2
3. T2 legacy terminal refurbishment
4. Legacy stands refurbishment
5. Any new remote stands?

I appreciate your enthusiasm for the MANTP project however I am not aware of any specific dates for completion of any of these parts of the project.
For your information the next meeting of the Manchester Airport Consultative Committee is due to be held on Friday 24th January. It is possible that more information may become available to the public at that time. Please send me a PM if you would like more information.

I wonder if this indicates that T2 is almost ready to handle domestic operations then?

I assume apart from gate availability / layout / location the biggest hurdle would be domestic arrivals having a route to bypass immigration ? Hopefully we’ll be trying it out in the summer.

The plans I have seen indicate a domestic arrivals route from the vertical circulation core (presumably to accept domestic arrivals via bus) up and over the top of international arrivals. The corridor routes down the side of the security hall before dropping back down 2 levels to the domestic arrivals carousels.

Will the new pier or legacy gates include a route from the jet bridges? I can't imagine BA being too thrilled with bussing all of their arrivals over.

Whether there will be a separate route for CTA arrivals is unclear. Currently in T1 domestic and CTA arrivals take different routes (the former bypassing customs). I would have thought this would still be a requirement for T2?

I would assume not initially.. if pier 3 gets built then it is likely that that will connect to the vertical circulation core, so a domestic arrivals walking route may be possible.

FRA,CDG have big bussing operations and I`m sure who travel frequently will be able to confirm many more and for prop aircraft most do.

BA isn’t a prop. Currently it’s via pier A with an airbridge and rear stairs at MAN. Bussing would be a step backwards.

We will find out soon(ish). Ideally they could easily use 208 for domestic and tie the pepper pot at arrivals level into the adjacent vertical circulation box and thus the domestic arrivals route outlined above. This would require bridging a gap of around 10ft; it would depend on what money is left I assume.

Agreed, it is a backwards step but this is how it’s been done in T1 for years. The only way I could see a walking route for domestic arrivals working is from the old legacy stands (208, 207 etc). Whether the airport deem this investment worthwhile or not is another question, especially given that these stands will be lost if/when pier 3 is built.

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?

49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
